Anyone have suggestions on ways to speed up CNS recovery through methods such as cardio?
i dno about the cardio thing… i would instead do very light interval/tempo runs etc… with adequate rest between runs.
your CNS recovers best with rest…
that being said, if your work capacity is insane, your recovery times should improve…
any time you test your true maximums, there will be a certain amount of time it will take to recover… that can be improved by having a great level of general fitness / work capacity.
proper sleep, rest, clean diet, contrast showers, cold pool recovery workouts help for me.
people say glutamine helps, dno for sure though.
rest is king though, most athlete’s train through a constant fatigued state for long periods, even up to years… i am guilty of it myself, so is most everyone…
to truly recover the CNS, you should be at a level above what it was BEFORE you fatigued it…
peace
Low-intensity cardio will do it. The idea is to be active in a leisurely way. I don’t know how else to describe it lol.
Phosphatidylserine works great. I used to use it my last month of training before a powerlifting meet and a couple weeks after. I took around 700mg a day and on workout days I took it after workouts in my post workout shake. Phosphatidylserine also lowers cortisol.
zma/ zinc
I am not sure there is any way to do it other than certain nootropic compounds.
I think that meditation is the equivalent of active rest for the CNS, but haven’t had enough experience actually using it to test it. Or rather, I have great experience with meditating, and heavy weightlifting, but not at the same time.

Did you find any place to get it cheap? To use the right amounts, I find it gets expensive real quick. Works though.

A friend of mine is a chiropractor and I got it from him for cost. I would only buy enough to last 4-6 weeks. Since I would only use it the last 2-3 weeks of training and 2-3 weeks after a meet.
coenzyme q 10 works for me
