Activation Potentiation

Just got your book High Treshold Muscle Building. In the general strength template does activation comes after warm up/ramp up or before and at what load is done with potentiation for bench press?

Will five to ten singles with nintey load before strength/hypertrophy work be too taxing for cns?

Yes, by a lot. Activation needs to be the less fatiguing possible. I actually don’t like to use a heavy lift for activation purposes, much less 5 heavy singles.

I prefer jumps, throws or overcoming isometrics for 6 seconds.

We want to amp up the nervous system, but not cause fatigue

Thanks for isolation potentiation question.

MUSCLE FIBRE TYPES TRAINING

Should muscles be trained with consideration of their types for hypertrophy, pectorial are fast twitchesntraine at low to moderate reps and traps are slow twitches traine at high reps to moderate, so the same rep sheme volume (like 4x8) won’t be appropriate for best results?

Do you have in plan to writte down some book on fibre type training and rep set schemes that works best for fast and for slow twitches muscles (for example what is best rep set scheme and load for the annterior delt, calfs as slow twitches muscles, what is for dumbbells fly for max hypertrophy without overtraining and junk volume)?

Is there a training precentage table for slow and fast twitches because they can’t do same number of reps on a certain precentage let’s say 80%?

No…

No, that’s not how it works

Yes, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that a muscle is more or less fast twitch. If someone has always trained with higher reps he will be better with higher reps and he test his max reps at 80% he’ll get a high number because he is good at that.

If someone always used lower reps in training, he will be bad at higher reps and will get less reps at 80%

Why are calfs trained at higher reps than pectorial for hypertrophy?

Tradition and a shorter range of motion (less range of motion = less mechnical work pe rep)
