Abs Are Still a Problem

Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am 21 and have been hitting the gym for about two years no, although I admit is hasn’t been consecutive (2 months on, 1 month off, 3 on, 2 off etc.) My body has come along reagrdless and I am almost happy with what I got. However my abs are still a big problem.

I got the love handles a little bit and my six pack is more like a two pack (the top two) I know running can help slim me down, but I haven’t been able to find a work out that can help my cut up. Any advise?

Also any advise on a easy way to maintain my size everywhere else while I slim down my abs?

If you want visible abs, then you need to look at your nutrition.

Visible abs are just a measure of BF%. Lower it.

Precisely, abs are made more in the kitchen than in the gym. You could do all the sit-ups you want, but if your body fat percentage is too high, you will never see abs.

9% that is the magic #. Too see the “6-pack” you got to get to around 9%. The best things you can do as far as abb work is Squat(and squat deep) affter that Deadlifts. But you got to work to get you BF down.

O and if you want to maintain your size then stop takeing a month or two off. Go to the gym, if you dont feel like make yourself go. If you feel bad suck it up and make your self go.

Not trying to jack your thread, but I kinda have this same problem, except for I have clearly visible abs. Its just my love handles is where I store all of my body fat and kant seem to get rid of it.

I am going back to doing alot more cardio and also working on hanging windshield wipers plus I do all the big lifts. Those love handles are damm stubborn though!

O yeah my diet is extremely clean as well. I know spot reducing doesn’t work, but does any one else have any help?

I just finished 8 weeks of: http://www.T-Nation.com/readArticle.do?id=508031

and am going to start my own Idea workouit that will go something along the lines of: http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=1992060&pageNo=0#1993380

Nope. Lower your BF% more, or get surgery. You can’t change where your body wants to deposit excess weight accept via surgery to my knowledge. Either lower the BF or except you won’t have chiseled obliques.

Supposedly though HOT-ROX helps getting the stubborn fat deposits moving.

Thanks for the help everyong, I will focus on running and eating healthier and see what happens. I will updat in say…1 month.
