About to Enter the Transition Phase

Hi Folks, it is now day 26 and im down 24 lbs. I read Shugart’s article about the transition phase. I see what he meant about the difference in taste for food, because I am experiencing that. I just wanted to know, now that im going on transition, hat the heck to do i eat.

Do i eat yogurt?
Can i Have cereal with low carbs?
what would my typical V-Diet transition options look like?

Please inform me

HATERS STAY OUT OF THIS POST!I DONT FEEL LIKE DEALING WITH YOU RIGHT NOW. IM DOING WELL AND I DONT NEED TO HEAR YOUR MOUTHS. YOU KNOW-WHO-YOU- ARE!

There was a pretty good article a while back on the transition phase. Basically the idea is to keep your carb intake relatively low for a while in hopes of losing even more weight. You might also want to review the last few weeks worth of posts in the Physique Clinic for that guy who lost a huge amount of weight on the V-Diet. I’m sure there were more inside tips in that chain than anywhere else on here.

Glad to see you’ve finally agreed that you succeeded on the diet. 24lbs is absolutely fantastic results. It was mentally draining wasn’t it? It’s easy to get into arguments on this site- but hopefully you now somewhat agree that it was silly to get all worked up because you weren’t losing as fast as you wanted to be, especially considering the results.

Good job.

There is plenty of info out there, including 3 Physique Clinic threads with that info.

Use the search function, read other people’s threads, read the articles, PM Shugs, whatever

Do your own homework.

Thanks

Well you weren’t exactly on the V-Diet before. But to transition you should have 1 hsm a day for the first week, and then go to 2 a day for the second week. Take a look at some of the physique clinics.

Can’t you read? Haters need not enter this post. I did the diet accordingly I’m not going to say this shit again. I HAVE SAID IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN JUST BECAUSE I WROTE THAT SHIT IN THE EARLY STAGES OF MY JOURNEY ON THIS DIET, DOES NOT MEAN I FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH THOSE FUCKIN TWEAKS. THE PROOF IS IN MY BEFORE AND AFTER PICS. LEAVE ME ALONE. I See your negative comments as nothing but a ploy to distract me and start this bullshit all over again. Im not having it!

Wow. You really are on the wrong forum. We’re a community here and if you can’t take the good with the bad you have no business being here.

Relax! Learn to ignore and disregard certain comments. That said, he’s right. Read the physique clinics, the insane amount of V-Diet logs, and the V-Diet article for info about the transition phase. I understand that you’re just looking for some help, but there’s a ton of places to look first, especially in the PCs, since Shugart works directly with them.

As I said in the last thread you started about the EXACT same subject, his article says solid, healthy meals. That’s all you need to know.

I asked in your previous thread if you knew what was healthy and solid. You said yes. So why are you asking what you can eat again? Solid, HEALTHY meals.

If you can’t figure out what those are without the entire T-Nation community giving you a shopping list of eat this don’t eat this, you got some real learnin’ to do.

And if the fact is you don’t know what is healthy, or what is low carb, as others have stated there are articles here that will tell you those things.

Many here have learned what they know through reading, trial and error, and otherwise. So when someone who obviously hasn’t spent enough time researching the info that is literally at your fingertips to determine HEALTHY, forgive us if we don’t really wanna give you the easy way out.

I like the idea of unity and community, but people who were rude and mean to me know exactly what im talking about. I will not tolerate being chastised on this forum. You telling me that I did not do the velocity diet and Im telling you I DID! You obviously read previous posts and assumed according to what you saw. With that being said i had to clarify and defend, if you don’t understand that, then i can’t help you.

Moving along in a positive direction, thank you Padilla!
Stats btw:

Staring: 221
Final Weigh in: 196
Total: 25lbs lost

BMI starting: 36
BMI finish: 30

I will calculate inches and what not later when i get home. My main concern was fitting into clothes that I could not do previously.

First off I did not say you did not do the velocity diet. Why would you accuse me of that when you have the actual ability to read what I wrote first? Seems silly.

Second- lighten up. Some people on here are going to be assholes and say shit whether you want them to or not. Complaining about it instead of just ignoring it makes you look bad too. You know you did a good job. What else matters?

What did you eat for your HSMs during the initial four-week phase? Assuming that you ate correctly at those meals (which your weight loss indicates is the truth), you should basically be eating the same thing during the transition.

A sample transition could be as follows:

Week 1: 1 HSM/day
Week 2, Days 1-3: 2 HSM/day
Week 2, Days 4-5: 3 HSM/day
Week 2, Days 6-7: 4 HSM/day

Personally, I had great success by upping my calories by incriments of 100/day. The first week I added these calories in the forms of more lean protein (chicken breast, eggs, good cuts of steak) and more fats (Natty PB, Fish Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil). The Second week I started to incorporate more carbs every day, specifically with oatmeal at breakfast, then later in the week I added in some whole wheat pasta in my first meal after my lifting session.

wk 1: Broiled Salmon w/broccoli drizzled with lemon. A small garden salad. Drank water with every meal.
wk 2: Chicken Gyro meat over Greek salad with Olive oil, Vinegar and basil dressing. and a turkey burger WITHOUT the bread.
wk 3: Chicken Gyro meat over Greek salad with Olive oil, Vinegar and basil dressing. and a turkey burger WITHOUT the bread. ( Greek food is my favorite as you can see)
wk 4: Salmon burger WITHOUT the bread, but with roasted red onions lettuce and tomato and a slice of fat free low sodium swiss cheese. Along with a garden salad and a tsp of Balsamic Vinegarette dressing.

Just teaching you to fish. If we give you the fish, you don’t learn how to do it for yourself.

You aren’t new! I know you can do this.

Not only that you can then browse the articles and figure out for yourself what your food choices best suit your needs, schedule and goals.

now stop asking folks to do the work for you and get to work

That looks fine, just keep eating that for your daily HSMs. I would very slowly start adding carbs in the second week, but only in the morning and PWO.

I actually made Shugart’s low carb pizza with the tomatoes and what not omg it was sooo good.

Today I could not wait to get home because I am gonna make a grilled chicken and mango salad with baby spinach. I get a little unsure at times on what to eat hopefully the mango I put in the salad doesn’t have too many carbs.
