Hi Amr,
one question, when a non-muslim meets a muslim, is there a term that the non-muslim can use that is a appropriate greeting to the muslim, thanks.
And welcome.

I have. lathered in rhetoric.
My question about any religion, is why praise a prophet? He was a messenger OF GOD? If he was, worship God. I find it analogous to driving to a lovely vacation site and worshiping the car.
What is the pbuh?

You don’t know that. And besides, that wasn’t the question asked.

I can’t answer for most Christians, but neither in Islam nor in Judaism are prophets praised. Worship is reserved to God the One and Only.
Pbuh is an abbreviation for “peace be upon him” (salla Allahou a’alayhi wasallam). It’s a sort of prayer appended to the mention of prophets asking God to bless them and grant them peace.

Honor killings, anyone?
well it’s something hard for you to understand
You’re goddamn right I don’t understand. Please enlighten us about the morality of killing women because of real or imagined sexual misdeeds.
See, here in the corrupt secular West, we believe (falsely, I know) that women deserve to be treated equally under the law.
So please explain the justification of “honor” killings.

Which actually does not work. Jesus claimed to be the son of God, his entire ministry was based on that. You cannot claim that some of his teachings were ok, but that part is wrong. He either is the son of God or a charlatan, there is no in between. If he is not what he says he is, then everything he said and did is not worth the paper it is written on. The whole “prophet” compromise is a cop out, because if is not what he says he is, then nothing else about him or his life matters. His words and actions should be taken as intended or disregarded all together.
sorry to bust ur bubble but jesus never claimed to be the son of god.
and in the quran god says bism illah alrahman alrahim “Say: He is Allah, the One! (1) Allah, the eternally Besought of all! (2) He begetteth not nor was begotten. (3) And there is none comparable unto Him. (4)”
LOL!! You have got to be shitting me.
John 17:1-2 - When Jesus had said this, he raised his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you,
Luke 22:70 - They all asked, “Are you then the Son of God?” He replied to them, “You say that I am.”
Mark 16:61-62 -But he was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him and said to him, “Are you the Messiah, the son of the Blessed One?”
Then Jesus answered, “I am; and ‘you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.’”
Yup, looks like he claimed it to me.

So just for clarification, Muslims think that Jesus was a prophet no more, no less; And Muslims think that the Bible is corrupted by men so therefore the Koran was sent to be the guiding rule; So do muslims believe that part of the corruption of the Bible was Jesus being the Son of God?

Agreed, I was just making sure that I had the muslim view right.
I still don’t understand the whole “Bible is corrupt so God sent the Koran” theory.

There is nothing to understand because it is horseshit. It’s actually laughable logic. It’s a square peg in a round hole. It’s like a brief movement in the SBC where they claims Jesus turned water in to grape juice.

Couldn’t agree more Pat. This thread is starting to get to the heart of the matter. I’m too busy to post much today - but great reading material here. “Well it’s something hard for you to udnerstand.” Holy shit, that gives me the fucking creeps.

we don’t praise the prophet but our point is that he demands respect whether you like it or not because he was chosen by god to carry his word and i think that god chooses wisely. why didn’t god choose me or u or lixy and chose mohamed (pbuh)? i think because he has something better than us that we don’t have

It gets even better. Apparently Muslims see Jesus as a sinless being, perhaps the son of God. And yet, they choose to constantly focus on “the prophet”… Peace Be Upon Him.

jesus was an honoured prophet but he wasn’t the son of god. i made it clear a few posts ago.
and according to islam our faith can’t be completed unless we believe in jesus moses and their books.
and in page 6 i wrote about jesus in islam
