ABCABC Strength Routine

Hello everyone!

What do you think of doing TOTAL BODY strength training 6 days a week?
What scheme would you follow and how many exercises would you perform?

I was thinking about starting a ABCABC routine like this:

A - Military 3x5 - Back Squat 3x5 - TBar Row 1x5
B - Clean 5x3 - Barbell Row 3x5 - Dips 1x5
C - Bench 3x5 - Deadlift 1x5 - Front Squat 3x5

Thanks for your attention

What are your goals??? Nobody can give concrete advice without knowing that. We don’t know why you chose this selection of exercises and what you think they will do for you. Bigger? Stronger? Powerlifting? Hypertrophy? Strongman type strength? Tell us more.

In general, I’ve found in my experience if you’re working out nearly everyday full-body it’s best not to be too strict about sets and reps (caveat, unless it’s super strict and planned out to manipulate volume like Sheiko) Somedays you may be off and others on. At the very least having a small plan to deal with the valleys and peaks of strength will help you in the long run.

Hey, thanks for the reply!

I’d like to be stronger and I’d like to do that training 6x week.

I know it sounds crazy but I have time and a home gym so i can train whenever i want; I was even thinking about performing two exercises in the morning and two in the afternoon.

It actually looks pretty tame to me. Weekly volume per muscle group is on the low side.

Interesting, what would you suggest?

I do full body training 6x a week.

Great for making steady progress on physique and weight gain.

But you need to get your sleeping down right. Sleep poorly and your body will fuck with you a bit.

Thanks for answering everyone!

Magick, could you give me an example of how your routine is?

Pretty please

I would read up on Alpha’s Logs and ask the man questions. He trains full body most days of the week and seems pretty open to helping people. Also Dan John’s Easy Strength routines are 5 days a week total body. I believe there are two different versions out there.

Who or what is Fofo?

Thanks Roran, I’ll read Alpha’s blog!

No problem! Hope you find a good routine you like. I also just remembered Alpha posted a template of sorts on page 1 of his recent log if you care to check it out

Upper body/Lower body/Back and shoulder prehab stuff if I didn’t get to the gym too late.

Recently I’ve been doing-

Squat/OHP/DB row on one day, Front squat or hang power clean/Bench press/Chin-up the other day.

I don’t quite follow what you are doing. Are you doing routine A one day 1&4, B on day 2&5, C on day 3&6?

Yes jp, or at least that was the original idea
