A Wise Man Once Said...

yea I mean to get big you have to do the work. There are some guys in my gym who will openly talk about AAS use and others who swear they have never touched it.

That 665 at 181 is crazy. What you guys have in the water up there? Mind sending some my way?
Another guy who’s 5’3" held a bench record too, both got over 700 since, I think (not 100% sure though), and both trained at Body America in Yorkville, NY for a while. Sucks that it closed down though. Students only had to pay $25/month.

Agree?
Sounds about right.

then u guys need to go to other gyms!
Reading comprehension is hard.

I agree wholeheartedly if I’m one of those that make up the 3%.

If I’m not, fuck that guy, he doesn’t know anything.
Yeah definitely X2 on that one.

Quoted again for accuracy.

I disagree… I think most people don’t know what the fuck they are doing.

I think most people assume others don’t know what they’re doing and never ask the people that they are watching any questions about their training, and don’t see enough of their overall training to make a valid assumption.

Three percent is WAY too high.

I think it sounds about right, if you think about one-hundred dudes in the gym – about three would know how to get big and strong.

i like how the counterargument here is just an explanation of how percents work. lol. “you see, you have 100 of something, and 3 of those hundred can get big and stong…so, 3…wait for it…percent!”
ROFLMAO niiiiice.

I don’t know about that number. I train at a nearby 24 and the number of big guys is definitely higher than 3 percent. I suppose things might be skewed because my gym has a pretty high proportion of polynesians and some of those dudes are pretty damn huge.

i work in a council gym, and its bloomin frustrating! no one really trains there with any intensity, (other than a chick who makes grunting noises when she trains with weights, which i think is cool! Puts the men to shame with how hard she trains) and dont get me started on all the 16ish year olds, they just make up exercises! ive mostly given up showing them as they know better, as long as it doesnt look like they are going to hurt themselves. they spend 90% of their time training…biceps. i think most of the 97% just dont train hard enough end of.

Gym owners have to think, ‘Do I want my dream gym’ or ‘Do I want to make money’.

And then they build their gym and advertise accordingly.

I see guys toiling away, day after day, year after year, making no progress…I want to help them, but I enjoy working out by myself and they didn’t ask for my help, so I don’t…

Maybe they have different goals then I do, not sure why you would want to expend all that effort and then not gain muscle?

In a small town where I live if someone had a “Hard Core” gym they would go bankrupt quickly. Just not enough muscle heads to fill the gym thus, no money. Often dream gyms that are hard core start in a garage I would think.

I think where I live there would actually be a market for something like this. All the local gyms are health centres with a small weight area thrown in as an after thought, and that small weight area is allways packed full of guys trying to get bigger. I could pretty much go around to each of those places (stand outside and talk them into it lol) and probably get 200 guys who are ‘hardcore’ signed up to my gym within the first month. Too bad I dont have the money to get started up or I probably would.
