Genetics don’t ‘drive’ how any ‘processes function’.

You respond the exact same way, to a different extent (which is what IS determined by genetics), to the exact same stimulus.
I’m confused, so are we all the exact same or are we genetically different? Are we clones of one another? Would being a clone makes us the same or are we different clones?
Humans share over 99.9% of their genes with everyone else. You have 1 variation in every 1000 base pairs, compared to chimps’ 1 in every 500 base pairs.

In terms you can understand, officer snowflake: we have enough variation to distinguish us, but barring extreme anomaly or disease, we all obey to them there same laws!!!

What I’m surprised is how this is even being discussed and was the only thing people took notice of in my posts. This special snowflake mentality is ridiculous.
God. First of all, the variance is 99.5% not 99.9%.

Second, we do vary tremendously. I am 5’6". Vince Urbank is (I think) 6’7". Think about the leverages. Do you think we’d respond differently to different lifts and different programs?

Next consider this. Look at this guy: http://maxcdn.fooyoh.com/files/attach/images/3004/794/003/004/estrogen-men.jpg Is his endocrine system different from mine and yours?

That’s just scratching the surface.
For the last fucking time; YOU ARE UNDER THE EXACT SAME BIOLOGICAL RULES

Even if you respond to a different extent, you eat more, you gain weight, you lift, you create muscle trauma, you force your body to adapt and it adapts.

‘I am 5’7 and some other guy is taller so we have different leverages’ is NOT obeying different laws of biology.

Jesus fucking christ, I feel like I’m teaching 5th graders.

It’s not even in GAL yet, we’ve got at least 5 minutes left.

P.S. In before dentistry suddenly only requires a community college degree.

EDIT: Goddamnit, I failed.

I wish this thread went somewhere else, because I would really like to know what the majority of people view strength as.

Want2getlean, your ignorance perplexes me, allow me to scratch deeper into what hastalles began. Thirdly, aside from your genetic variation statement, I’m sure you fancy yourself a lifter, therefore I’m sure you know that if you have been doing so for years then not only is your muscle make up DIFFERENT from non-lifters but your bones should be stronger, your protein synthesis process and entire nervous system in generally should be more efficient, you should be better coordinated, and your tendons and joints should be healthier just to name a few. Fourth, does your variation include the differences in brain capacity or even something as simple as fingerprints?

It’s not the only thing we took notice of, it’s just the most ridiculous. By your definition of us all being the same is like you saying the mentally challenged can function on the same plane as those that aren’t handicapped, there is a difference in what’s happening in their brains isn’t there, or does officer snowflake have something else mixed up? You post as if you’ve been told it’s more nutritional to drink septic water so you have been all your life, what type of foolishness are you compelled to spread?

Please explain this. Do you know what a phenotype is?

What else determines this other than your genetic make-up?

Please explain for the class.

LOL.

We just drive by the school and they fling the degree in the car window.

I am bigger and stronger than non-lifters because I lift. If non lifters lift, they will become stronger.

To get bigger and stronger I did what the body requires to get stronger; progressively challenging loads and sufficient nutrition. The same which EVERY SINGLE BODY needs.

The phenotype is the composite of your morphology (DEM DERE GENETICS!!!) with your enviroment and behaviour.

I know to someone so dull and hamfisted claiming one of the parts as the consequence to all may seem fair, but I wish you could only savour how ironic this is coming from someone who insults most people with ‘good genetics’ for not putting them to use.

Don’t quote me on this as I’m not completely sure of the “rule” nor is my view, and I don’t speak for the majority, but I think the general view of strength is 1.5x your bodyweight in benching, 2x your BW in squat and 2.5x your BW in deadlift.

Shocking.

Not to mention, you don’t lend a whole lot of credibility to your statements when you try to come off as thoroughly educated and jaded by all the great knowledge you’ve attained in posts like the above and then start other threads discussing how you throw down PH’s/stims/recs seemingly at random. It looks like shit when you try to come off like you’ve figured everything out in some posts, then clearly acknowledge that you still don’t have your shit together in others. A little consistency might be nice.

Hey bro, I might be fucked up and a PED abuser, but at least I’m realistic.
If you stopped spending all your money on Indigo, Finibars, Metabolic Drive et al and started pinning, you could actually look like a bodybuilder!

Godamn, I hope this post doesn’t get me banned.
It seems like around here, the strongest insults are a-ok, but any discreditation on Biotest supplements is worth a warning or a suspension.
I do. You should’ve been banned when you repeatedly tried to start an anti-Biotest thread in GAL just so you could wail about being censored. Remember that box you ticked when you signed up for the privilege of posting on this site? Always pays to read the terms & conditions before you agree to them. What’s more, you joined in Nov 2011 and you’ve got more venom in your heart for Professor X than any noob I’ve ever seen.

Either he’s wronged you in a past life or you’ve held an account here before.
I for one don’t believe in reincarnation.

I think he meant non lifters. Most non lifters dont have a clue. If I mention my deadlift numbers they will ask if deadlifts are like bench presses.

Once again your ignorance perplexes me, while you’re right about lifters vs. non-lifters, you just categorized human beings. The non-lifter is still of homosapien classification yet he VARIES from you and I because his choice not to lift, therefore he is a different human being.

And obviously I can, you can’t bar the diseased, or “that extreme anomaly” as you put and say “well everyone other than these people are the same.” People VARY you just helped me prove my point in the whole lifter vs. non-lifter concept, fool.

Oh, I see what you mean, I didn’t think about that. That’s like the greatest, most common non-lifter question when they want to judge your strength…“How much you bench?”
chitown34 wrote:
Strength is abstract… Someone who is a champ in the big 3 may suck at the oly lifts. An oly lifter may suck at strong man events. The strong man may suck at high rep work. All the individuals above, even elite, might be considered “weak” by members of another training discipline and despite what people think, strength is subjective.
