Thats definitely the wrong picture to be looking at when I know I don’t get to eat for the next 16 hours. God dammit fasting can be hard sometimes…

Just think of it as the prize at the end of the tunnel haha.
Back/bis
Friday 6/3/11
DB row
8x80
8x100
8x120 (probably a PR, upping the weight next week)

3x8x80 (strict, 2 second squeeze)
Wide grip pulldowns (2 second squeeze)
somexsomex50
12x75
12x87.5
12x100
8x112x5
DROP: 8x100, 8x87.5, 10x75
Straight arm pulldown (2 second squeeze, rope attachment)
10x6
2x10x8
2x8x8
Cybex pulldown machine (neutral grip, 2 second squeeze)
8x1pps
8x2pps (too big of a jump)
2x8x1pps+25
Hammer curls
8x30
8x40
8x50
5x60
EZ bar preacher curls
8xbar
8xbar+20
8xbar+30
I REALLY enjoyed hitting back/bis. My right arm seemed to have a weaker grip while DB rowing, probably due to the forearm pain. Other than that it was awesome DB rowing, will strap up w/ the heavier weight.
I felt my biceps doing a little more work than I would like while doing the wide grip pulldowns. I would’ve opted for neutral grip PDs but couldn’t find the handle for it.
I officially <3 straight arm PDs, the lat pump was insane! I may do these before PDs involving the biceps.
Didn’t really like the NGPDs with the cybex machine. May or may not do them next week.
All the prior back work pumped some blood into the forearms which helped keep my right forearm pain down while doing biceps work.
Pretty happy with how the hammer curls went, not so much with the preachers. I’ll probably just do standing EZ bar curls next time instead.

Oh and ran into bug today lol. Gahd he’s lookin’ sexy <3

Do you think thumbless grip on the pulldowns would’ve helped with taking the biceps out?
Either way, that’s an awesome session. Back&Bi days suit you.

It’s worth a try
When I do pull ups I usually take a thumbless grip b/c it feels better.
And thanks, I rather enjoyed the session. Not to mention my lats and bis are rather sore today.
Nice back bi session. I personally couldn’t see myself doing a dedicated split day like that. Not that I’ve never done anything like that, but I just couldn’t imagine a session without some variation of the squat, deadlift, bench, press or olympic lifts. That’s like a salad without lettuce! Lol… Anyway, good stuff dude.

Yeah I hear you. I love doing the main lifts, I also couldn’t really see myself doing more BB type training. But after giving it a shot, I’m digging it haha. At least as far as doing back/bis.
Salad without lettuce? I think the more appropriate metaphor would be eating without dead animal flesh.

Yeah, that’s probably a better one. Youse a poet or sumthin???

Nah, just a closet novelist.
5/3/1, 5 week turned Deload
Sunday 6/5/11
Seems like it’s been forever since I’ve squatted, groove wasn’t quite there.
Squat
somexsomex135
5x175
5x200
5x225
5x275 (was harder than I thought it’d be)
3x255
3x250
3x245
a bunchx135
Meh weights felt heavy and slow, might have just been an off day but I think I’ll deload this week. Anyhoo, this week will be the first week of summer class so may as well deload while I get a handle for my schedule. Besides I hit some decent PRs last week.

I feel ya man, today I didnt feel in the zone either. Deload will definitely do ya some good if the weights are feelin heavy and slow.
Seems like forever since I read some of your squats! lol
Whenever I feel like it’s been a while since I squatted, I feel the same way. Slow and heavy.
