Fun Neural charge session. I love doing snatches Almost makes me want to get into Olympic lifting. Squat technique feels much better, hopefully it’ll be that way when the weight goes up.
Somewhat of a cool thing happened today. During class today, a big dude sat beside me and I thought to myself, “This dude’s pretty thick”. Turns out this guy is a T-Nationer haha.

Today I basically felt like a collection of equine fecal matter. I plain sucked today. The weights didn’t feel heavy per se. I just couldn’t get them up/get the reps. Some of it had to do with having a spell of stomach cramps, these happen every so often and are the bane of my existence.
At first I was having doubts about joining the PL team, mainly because I had a crap day and because I basically did whatever I felt like doing today and because I thought the training time wasn’t the best fit for my schedule. But after some actually thinking, I figured they’ll eventually get me started on something. Plus there’s ALWAYS time, just need to look for it. I think I was starting to miss my garage gym haha :P. I guess my garage gym is just going to have to learn to share me with the PL one lol.
Anyway I’ll head back friday afternoon and see how things go. If you want to get strong you need to hang around strongER people. And…that’s all for my tirade. Time to look ahead and build some mossals!
Oh btw, I’m thinking of getting a belt. Might help with the squatting in addition to increased lower back, glute, and hammie work.
Congrats on the squat PR! And your military press is awesome. Don’t ever feel that you don’t fit in with the PL team.
Oh and, you should vent more often :)[/quote]
Thanks Nikki
Venting helps haha.
I think I’m just frustrated with the fact that I’m in training limbo. I want to continue what I was already doing with my training, but at the same time I want to get into the swing of things with the PL team. Just sucks not knowing what your plan is. I don’t even know what I’ll do Friday haha. But I digress, on Friday weight will be lifted and iron will be pumped.
I would definitely join the team if there are strong kids. I credit most of my gains from being in the strength club on campus at KU and being around stronger and motivated kids like myself. You can’t beat lifting in that kind of atmosphere

Thanks Yeah I’ll do so. I just need to get used. It seems like I’ve been in my deep dark garage a bit too long haha. The main thing I need to do is to just focus on my lifting again. I seem to have gotten a bit caught up with what these MAY be thinking, when in reality they are there for the same reason as me, to lift some heavy ass weight haha.
I can definitely learn a thing or two. Today one guy was bench at least 5 plates.
If I were you I would do whatever program you feel you’ll get the best results from but still go powerlifting and they can help you out on technique plus you are more likely to push yourself harder if there are other people around. Might be an idea to get someone else from powerlifting on the program you are on so you have someone to train the same lifts with.

Yeah that is true. The thing is I don’t know if I can just do my thing or if they are going to give me some workout or something. I’ll be sure to ask about that tomorrow. I did ask one of the guys if they just do their own things, and he said that they are given workouts. So I’ll just have to wait and see. Thanks for the suggestion
Ah I see. I hate not knowing what I’m going to do either.
I had a class last semester and I was SO nervous that I was going to be given a plan. Then I was nervous because of the restriction and time restraints.

Well I’m not worried about it anymore, for now I’ll just try to test my 1RMs and go from there.
After my awful session Wednesday, I was basically sick that day and Thursday. Thankfully I’m all good now. Eating chili seems to have helped, as well as tons of oranges and blueberries

Kicked things off with some DB swings and stretching.
Deadlift
Basically worked my way up to about 4 or 5 singles with 315.
DB row
10x60
10x80
10x90
10x100
Attempted 120, but wasn’t feeling it.
I was hoping to set a PR today, but no dice. So I just decided to do a few singles w/ 315. 315 felt unusually heavy. This morning I was feeling all healthy and well, but later in the afternoon things went south. I guess I’m still sick. Hopefully I’ll recover before Monday.
I figured I’d do some DB rows to get some back work done.
On a positive note, it was cool talking to some of the guys and introducing myself. Turns out today was DL day so conversion more or less revolved around that. In particular, we talked about different grips (they wondered why I pull double over hand, and asked if I used a hook grip) and about pulling sumo vs. conventional. Turns out most of them pull sumo haha. It was also pretty cool to watch a pull upwards of 6 plates
To tops things off, as I exited the PL room and passed through the regular gym area I noticed these two guys doing some awful bastard-hybrid of a decline press and sit up.
