nice work, but even on the board presses I would start holding the lock out. at the top of this one you just drift back into the rack at the top, so I would call it a .8 or .9, not a 1, lol. form is looking better but still a bit shakey. remember to take in a big belly full of air, and hold it, and stay stable damnit.

LWI, bro…
Hey DF,
Has anyone told you that you look like you could be MarauderMeat’s son? You guys both push unholy amounts of weight, and you both wear a beanie lol! I realize this is a stupid question, b/c everyone is totally different, but how much of a time commitment is law school?
Every time I ask somebody who has been through it, they always tend to overplay the difficulty (probably b/c they want it to seem like the overcame some GREAT feat of impossibility and inflate their ego…Hell, I do the same thing myself). Obviously it’s hard, but how many classes do you take at any given time, how much time do you spend in the classroom, and how much time do you spend doing homework, studying, etc…?
BTW, what year are you in? And PS, I’ll ask you the same thing I asked Meat: How does it feel to know that you can bench press approximately 5.5 19 year old college girls?!

MM’s son? Nice. You should get a beanie, it instantly adds 100lbs to your total.
Hahaha I imagine some do overplay it to make it seem like a great difficulty, but the truth is that it is pretty damn difficult. Obviously every school is different, but the one I am at is intense. I am in 15 hours (which is not crazy), but a law school lecture with a Socratic style teacher can be an absolutely brutal (but rewarding) experience, every single day. I am in class close to 3 hours each day, but outside of class, when I am not training I am usually reading or studying. The sheer amount of “busy” work is what makes it tough.
I am a first year, and granted, first year is the toughest, but it doesnt really get any easier (from what I am told from 2L’s and 3L’s), you just get more used to it.
As for your benching question, I dont know if I am at 5.5 yet, but what I am pressing feels great haha
Nice. My dad is a lawyer, and went to UC Hasting in Northern Cali. He always told me that there isn’t much busy work, and that the work you do is to prep for the one or two tests you have each term, but things have probably changed quite a bit. I was talking to my philosophy teacher, who has his PhD in philosophy, and the way he described that program made we want to burst out in anxiety just by hearing what they had to do lol! Graduate school is no joke. That teacher was also in the military, and he likened the Army to upper division/graduate programs. The teachers wear uniforms (striped gowns, hanging feathers and fancy hats), similar to how different ranks dress in the army, and the teachers/drill sargeants are always trying to break you and weed out the weak! lOL.
I’m excited, because I love the Socratic Method. I love discussion, arguing, thinking, and being amongst smart people. I’m excited to transfer next semester b/c at my current school (community college) people aren’t very serious, and I think that once I’m at university I’ll be much happier. BTW, I too have heard that wearing a beanie adds weight to your total…But then again, you PLers only care about numbers, unlike us BBers who wanna slay the chicks and get cut up from the nut up LOL.
^and when said chicks need you to lift something heavy…well damn, guess who they are calling, you weak aesthete? jk brah

Ink you are officially the least helpful person ever.
Sweet, thanks! It’s been explained in this log and several others, thought you may have just overlooked it.
“Lockout…Work It!” is the official breakdown.
Can I still retain my title?
Yes you can still have your title haha.
Speaking of lockouts…Dixie (and all those that read) anyone had issues where their DE bench days are just fricken murder on their elbows? I’ve found that my ME bench days are easy and I feel great (and have been setting PR’s) but my DE bench days just kill my elbows.

Supplement glucosamine chondroiten, elbow sleeves, and ice as needed. Something I did to help elbow soreness was restricting the amount of pressing I did…after the DE bench, I would not do any other pressing for the rest of the day.
So apparently the post didnt load the first time. Should it show up, do your thing Mods.

Holy shit you’re strong. Where’s TBA been? I looked at your numbers now vs. on the first page of this log…WoW!
Out of curiosity, what size pants do you wear? I’ve noticed that I’ve gone from a 34 to a 36-38 in the past few months while bulking. I never really DLed, squatted, stiff leg DLed before that, and I’m 6 foot 2, so I was wondering what other tall big dudes wear…
Either way, great lifts my friend. I tried the Meadows leg press hell eccentrics drop set thingy the other day, and needless to say I’m in a great deal of pain. Better watch out there big guy, I’m creeping up on your lifts…(LOL)
Box squats looked strong. You doing high box squats? Seemed a bit above parallel and was just wondering if that’s what you were goin for? I bought me some strong bands today, gonna use them next squat cycle. New vids up on my log so check 'em out.
hlss09 - depending on the brand of shorts/pants is between 36-40. TBA has had quite a year in school this year, he is still training hard but has had to scale back/make some changes. Rest assured, he is still living up to his namesake.
LM - Once I sit back onto the bench, it puts me right at/just a bit above depth. I dont have anything else really to use for a box, so its what I am stuck with. I have tried stacking 45lb plates on a step up platform before, but it didnt work out that well and I got tired of having to steal a step up from the group ex classes
