good work, couple of questions: why will you have to pull extra wide in suit? also, for the de bench, why this 12 x 2, instead of 8 or 9 x 3?

Regarding extra wide - I have my squat suit to pull in, and its too tight to get all the way down to pull without takin my feet out wider

Regarding the 12x2 - Just wanted to do something different for a few weeks

ME Good mornings, then some fun pulling

Long day, class is wearin me out, mid semester funk. Need some good rough n tough lifting. I tried maxing out good mornings from the pins, just the concentric portion. It was alright, but when the weight got heavy it got really frustrating. On the pins I had a hard time getting in position because the bar kept moving on the pins. I worked up to 500 x 2 x 1, but because it kept moving, I ended up half good morning half squatting it. Didnt video these, was pretty frustrated.

I like your “routine” before you pull, noticed it on your last raw DL vid (arms out and up, almost “prayer” like, grip and regrip the bar a few times, breathe, pull) I think I need to re-vamp my setup to go from gripping and ripping, to a calmer grab and pry the bar off of the floor.

Great pull bud. Definitely smooth and a bit more strength on the lockout will see you pulling 600+ easy (only last few inches looked like you were even having any trouble at all, looked like childs play).

Question - how high do you set the pins on the GM’s? I’m contemplating raising them slightly for mine I currently go to about parallel to the floor.

Best part of that pull was the chi-harnessing hand movements beforehand. And the PR, I guess.

Bad news, the monday after the meet I wanted to do I have a project worth a good portion of my grade due. With that and other school work, I cant justify taking off for the weekend to do the meet. Will be looking for a meet this summer to do.

Do you compete in SPF? I’m doing that meet you suggested and wondering how well they’re run. I’m also contemplating using knee wraps since they allow them even though I don’t really consider it raw. Thoughts?

MiM - Thank you, its frustrating me but right now I’m a student, and thats gotta come first.

LM - Only SPF meet I have attended was run pretty well. The only thing I saw go wrong was a side spotter on bench grabbed the bar before the head judge said take it, so the guy running the meet replaced him. Regarding knee wraps, use em!

When and where is your meet again?

April 2nd GA State University. Also I was planning on just going this alone since I don’t have a training partner. Would someone there give me a spot or a lift off if I needed it ya think or should I try and find a bud (who may not have much of a clue as to what he’s doing) go with me?
