how much weight is taken off by the bands in that reverse band bench press? that looks awesome. I want to start doing powerlifting now just so I can look really cool in the gym. I dont think i’d know how to set it up though. Seems like you need a friggin architecture degree to set some of your lifts up
DF is kickin ass and taking names up in this beeeeeeyotch!!!

Oh and about the functional gym goers, due tell.
Not really sure. At the top I dont feel much help at all, at the bottom it deloads a good bit, but the help quickly goes away as you can see in the video haha. Like hitting a brick wall.
The two functional dudes, never seen em before, just goin from the way they were liftin and what they were discussin. Will keep you posted on this possible invasion.
hlss - dude, we all have dark places in our past. you are still welcome here.
Awesome bench dude. I need to try reverse band benching, maybe one of these nights I can get to the gym and manage to drag a bench across the room to a cage before the cage gets stolen from me.
Half the fun of band work is in the rigging up of the weights, right?

Nice PR. Can’t see the video through work web filter, those average bands? Good job on the tricep death too. Looking strong.
Yes sir, used the gray average bands. Got punished on the tricep death, did not realize how much reverse band had wore me out.

sweet man. I bet it really helps strengthen your lockout huh?
Hey DF, I was leg pressing at the gym today, and some lady almost fainted b/c I wasn’t wearing knee wraps. Granted I don’t listen to people at the gym, but I was curious if you think it wise to wear them regardless? I’m only repping 7 PPS, give or take, but still…better to be safe than sorry (I may have just answered my own question lol…)
nikki - that was taken a few weeks ago, thanks for the compliment!
hlss - tell that lady that you will be fine. I only wear them when squatting at max levels, or repping near max weight (which I have not done in a while). I wear them at those times because I have hurt my left knee before, and as I get heavy it starts giving me trouble. Those are the only times. If you wear them all the time, you get used to the feel and you lose some of the rebound (this is merely my opinion and experience)
Started 4 weeks of Standing Military press, but am still benching before, just fast explosive sets of straight weight.
On an awesome side note, two little dudes (both 14) who usually play basketball on Sunday afternoons asked if they could start lifting with me on Sunday afternoons. It appears I have some followers. We will see if they keep it up in the coming weeks, but as for today they worked hard and pushed themselves to their limits.
Warm ups
RE Bench (minimal rest between sets)
225 x 12 x 2
Standing Military
155 x 5
180 x 5
205 x 5 (I wanted more, but got out of my groove - video)
Rope Pushdowns
7 x 12-18
DB Row (one arm at a time)
130 x 15
120 x 18
110 x 20
5-hundo’s no joke man. That’s really impressive. Do you normally bench with your thumbs riding the bar? I ask 'cause that’s how I bench, and it’s awesome.
