A Southern Revolution - The Log of DF and TBA

Damn fine pulls man, damn fine.

Question, is the weight area right on the sidelines of the BB court or something? I picture a ball flying over and hitting you during a squat, and then you busting out a “hulk smash” on that shit

Thanks bud.

Yeah, the weights are in the old basketball court, half the court is the weights, half is still a court. haha if that ever happens, I will make sure I get it on camera

Why the hell does your gym not allow chalk???

I dunno, the gym is privately owned so I guess it has to do with not wanting to hire cleaners or have to clean it himself.

I’m thinking I’m just gonna sneak it in.

Just throw some in their eyes when you walk in, and they’ll be blinded for a while. This way you can get in, chalk up, kill it, and get out before they are able to see straight

PS, thanks for the link to EFS, hadn’t been on there today (yet) and scooped the strong band deal, pure win!

I’d have a conversation about this with the owner before resorting to the sneaking method. Something along the lines of… “Kind sir, your bars a slick as shit. Can I use chalk?? I’ll even clean up after myself if need be.” Given the equipment I’ve seen in your pics and videos of this gym, management does not seem averse to people busting ass. A no chalk rule just seems very out of place.

The secrete is to present the question as a safety issue. Tell him you are afraid of having the weight slip due to sweaty palms and either damaging equipment or hurting someone. So you want to use chalk because its safer and it makes you less likely to break something.

Sound advice gentlemen. Thanks.

PS - DD I want a moderate intensity shirt

Ahh, a razorbacks fan. My brother got his Ph.D. there. Was a history prof. Actually still is, but not there.

No chalk allowed? You can easily wipe up any resulting powder with a wet paper towel. Yeah, I agree with DoubleDuce about presenting the request as a safety-based one. Sometimes, that’s the only way gym management will listen.

My gym has all kinds of rules that I ignore.

My gym has the no chalk rule too but they know I bring it in. I use a big ziplock bag and I clean my mess. No issues.

kpsnap: Arkansas born, bred, and proud of it!
nlmain and snapper: once I get a hold of some chalk I will run it by the owner with the safety spin

haha! My suit and shirt were a Christmas and birthday present respectively. My parents always ask me what I am saving my money up for (within limits), and thats my present. Not much for surprises in my family. I am very blessed in this regard.

If I am hearing you right, I am shooting for a meet back in Arkansas in march, just depends on my school schedule.

Damn DF, you’re making me really wish I built a full cage instead of a rack to be able to do the reverse band shit. Craigslist, here I come!

Greg, he mentioned it recently, I think he’s looking to total around a billion pounds, give or take a few

DF, your numbers are impressive. I notice you do a lot of cardio…I too like to keep cardio up during a bulk.
Could you possibly post a typical day of eating? Keep up the good work

good idea about the christmas/birthday presents. I tried that this year and asked for some wrist wraps… I didnt get em :frowning:

In all honesty, there isnt really a typical day of eating. I get a least a couple shakes in, but as for meals it varies a ton. Mainly just try to get enough protein and carbs in to have the energy to go heavy, thats really it as far as planning goes.
