DE Bench…that turned into a sort of ME…ah well.

Started 4 weeks of Standing Military Press, Ive found that alternating every few weeks keeps my shoulders (particularly the left one) healthier and more pain free. I then did reverse band bench with average bands, prob should have choked them higher, they didnt help too much at the top. Side note: the insertion point of my left pec right under/at my armpit has been tight and sore all day…anybody know a good way to get it to loosen up? Couldnt get it loose and it messed with me today.

Maxed out band resist sumo deadlift. At the top, those bands were extremely heavy. PS - I hate the new years crowd.

with your OHP, have you tried a closer grip? (you seem very wide) might irritate the pec insertion less

I noticed it too. You’ll probably be able to move more weight with a narrower grip. Your hands should be narrower than your bench because your delts are probably weaker than your chest and narrowing the grip transfers more load to your tris. I’d at least experiment with it some.

Nice pulling dude, those bands look to be a bitch! And to second what Caveman said about narrowing the grip on OHP’s, I find it’s easier on the shoulders too. I take about a thumb’s width onto the knurling, no wider, and they feel good. If I go too wide I can’t use as much weight and it feels funky on my shoulders.

Good day today. Wanted to use the shirt, but Dr.DF is sick, so was there by myself. Borrowed an idea from Meat and tied the 2 board to me with a knee wrap. On the video, I am not counting the second rep cause the spotter pulled on it. In his words, when I pushed him for what he actually had done (dont think he understood why it was a big deal to me) he said “I started to grab the first one but then you fired up with it, the second one I thought you were barely moving so I did pull on it”…apparently when I said just be there just in case, he misunderstood. Note to self, be extra clear next time.

Nice press dude, looking really strong. It’s gotta suck trying to find random people to spot you who don’t know what you’re looking for in a spotter, but hell…at least you got 'em around you. That’s one thing that sucks about training at home.

Probably why my bench is so shitty. I just make tiny bits of progress and only add weight when I’m feeling strong. If I have any feeling that I won’t nail it with some left in the tank, I’ll back off.

Have not competed, the plan is to compete in a meet in March in Russellville Arkansas, but it all depends on my school schedule. There are not (at least that I can find) any meets in the Jackson MS area, so to compete I gotta drive about 6 hours there and 6 back in the middle of semester…so we will see. If not then, than this summer when I will have more time.

Other than pullups and dips at work, and prowler pushing, anytime I suggest or attempt to get him to come over and lift, he flakes out. Read: Vaginosis!
