A Southern Revolution - The Log of DF and TBA

^finally get a picture during the rep, and its blurry as hell. come on man. 455lb single ply bench.

ME Bench

Much love to 5/3/1. Didnt like it that much the second go around. Back to my old plan. Maxed out on full ROM shirted benching. Shirt is Titan F6 Single Ply.

Warm ups

Bench
bar x some
135 x some
225 x 5
315 x 3
Shirt On

405 x 2

445 x 1ish (spotter bumped the bar half way up so it turned into a grinder)
455 x 1 (<-a real PR!)

For the first time I think I finally got the groove right on the shirt. I was able to come down stable, touch the belly, pause, and come back up slow but steady. It…was…beautiful. Ok enough of that.

90lb x 9
100lb x 6

HA! Possibly too soon, not sure on that.

Thanks both of yall.

Ink, at the time I lift there are a number of regulars who all come in, and usually I will just ask one of them before a PR so that I can keep a record. I think I am blamin this on my crappy camera goin blurry if you so much as exhale while taking a picture.

Great lifts and PRs DF.

I don’t really mind the quality of the photos, but the second you get a better camera I’m expecting a ton of people commenting here. Ask Santa for a new camera

Thanks bud.

Ha I dunno bout gettin a new camera, though this break I plan on using my families camera to film some lifts.

Was absolutely wasted by studyin last night after lifting and my Contracts final this mornin, so I was a lazy bum, stretched and walked on the treadmill for a while, some incline, some flat, none fun.

Too soon? Did he die? No…he didn’t die. Hell, he’s Canadian too, didn’t know that. Thanks wikipedia!

Looking forward to some lift vids, you have beyond strong numbers my friend, keep pushing it.

^Box Squats, from this photo I think I need to sit back a bit further, angle may not be the best though to tell

I like it. My lower back was worn out after Friday but its gettin worked better for it.

Nice benching Dixie, and nice benchtop lathe you posted

^blurry as hell, ah well. 425 pause good morning. the picture was snapped as I was rocking

ME Squat/Deadlift/Good Morning

Maxed out the good mornings today. Came down to the bars and set the weight, stayed tight, rocked under the bar and drove it up.

Warm Ups

Good Mornings
135 x 2 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 4
365 x 3
405 x 2
425 x 1 (PR)

Could have possibly pushed for more on this but cut it there.

Sumo Rack Pull with slight band assist.
Strong Bands, chocked at head level to provide a pop up but went slack well before lock out. The weight started about 4 inches off the ground, so really more of an elevated deadlift than a rack pull I guess.

225 x 8
315 x 5
405 x 5
500 x 3
550 x 2
600 x 1 (no straps, PR)

Back Extension with Two Strong Bands
3 x 20

Standing Abs
3 x 15

^again, blurry, but ah well.

600lb sumo rack assisted pull.

Kick ass GM PR, and the rack pull PR. Impressive for sure. Because of Parkinson’s.

Question: do you do the band and board work because you are looking for carryover to equipped lifting? I know you bust out the suits sometimes but IDK what you compete/plan to compete in, if anything.

I’ve always thought it sounded like fun to play with that shit but i’ve just stuck with boring old normal lifting for my career thus far.

Answer: Yes. I dont get to use the suit and shirt as often because of lack of dedicated spotters here in Jackson, but yeah, I plan on competing.

EDIT/UPDATE: I had planned on competing this past fall but that got hijacked by ending up in school down here in Jackson MS rather than staying in Arkansas. There is a meet this spring in Russellville Arkansas that I want to do, I just have to be find out my schedule for this next semester, etc.

ME Bench

Maxed 2 board in the shirt. After the warmups got a gatorade and chugged it cause I was feelin weak, the carbs did the trick. Take home lesson kids, eat a lot before ME days. I didnt have much time so after the 2 board I had to hurry through. No picture during the lift, didnt have an extra person to take the photo.
