A New Way To Look At The Importance Of Squatting & Deadlifting

Yes, I was going to do barbell hack squats. For calves and abs I was going to do calves on hip day and abs on quad day.

Again, those may not be the actual exercises I was going to do. I just trying to come up with my own routine that implemented both the squat and deadlift as I love doing both (that includes front squat - I love doing those ass to grass ;).

Just out of curiosity, say I want to switch things up and take a break from deadlifts. Are there any types of exercises I could replace it with? Would I just use different variations (i.e. Dumbell Deads, or wide stance vs narrow stance)?
