Saturday evening update.
1+ mile run/walk doing bicycle training with the kids.
10 laps swimming.
Blisters on my hands from all the rows and PCs.
Wife is enamored with how I look now. Its been a good 2021. I’m so glad I can do this - tendonitis was preventing this kind of thing just a few months ago. And I’m super happy to be in a period where i have to eat to keep up with training. I straight up drank 8oz of heavy whipping cream today.
6/13 Afternoon:
5 rounds, every 2:30 on the 2:30:
-5 Press 95lb
-20 BPA
Then pressed 1 single at 115, no problem, attempted 135, just barely FAILED. Would have had it if I’d rested another minute or two, and not been in a rush… I think!
“sally” air squats with daughter
@dagill2 knocking out tomorrow’s press early, and hopefully I can keep the rest really short on the 10 sets of squats tomorrow, so I can get it all crushed in one trip still get to work early.
Kept press the same weight this week, this is the real week 2 SSL weight, I was over-achieving last week because 95# is a convenient number. Made sure the rest stayed short this time too.
6/14 Monday
Squat 10x5 175lbs. 60-70 sec rest between sets, crept up toward 90 sec at the end.
Leg press 4 sets of 25: 225, 225, 225, 205.
This was probably heavier than the intent of the program, a lot of breathing pauses were required. Was absolutely brutal. Would have been equally brutal with less weight and faster pace though.
Staggering after this.
Leg extensions 3x30 50,50,60 pin-select. Last few reps were an incredible painful BURN as Kroc intended.
Staggering even worse
Lying Leg curls 3x15 110 on the pin-select.
DB Sldl 3x15 with 55s, 60s, 60s. Straps on the last two sets, which was a good idea.
@dagill2 this session, dude, was absolutely brutal. Glad I knocked out pressing yesterday. I’m gonna feel this one.
6/15: 60 swings early just to get moving and that’s it. Work and family took priority over any feeder workout plans.
6/16 Wednesday
PRESS
10 singles at TM 120lbs, one every 50 seconds on the second.
BENCH PRESS
145x3
165x3
185x10! Last rep was a struggle and me, a year ago, wouldn’t have attempted that level of exertion, no safety or spotter.
I figured worst case I could dump it to the side, which would wake the family but I wouldn’t die.
BBB sets have to wait because I must go to work.
Bad because I lose the training effect of being fatigued post-amrap, but it is what it is.
Planning to try with 70%tm today. @dagill2 is that considered appropriate for BBB or over-reaching? Either way I’ll try, and back off if I need to to hit the reps.
I’m using FSL, which this week would be 70% Not going to lie, ots hard going for me. My Bench has taken a massive hit this last year. You’re putting me to shame with that topset.
