Got up early to do this absolutely brutal armor building session:
31 rounds EMOM, 135lb:
First 15 rounds: clean, press, clean, 3xfront squat
Next 16 rounds: clean, press, clean, front squat
First half was pain. Convinced myself to hold on for 10 rounds. Then 5 more… by then the set took nearly the whole minute and I couldn’t have kept up the pace. So rather than quit I dropped 2 front squats from the circuit and kept going.
I feel like superman.
Awesome stuff, pushing through it like that. I want to try this complex one day. I think Dan recommends doing it with KBs though; he’s a fan of DB KB front squats.
Indeed. I shamelessly stole the name and the structure but substituted the barbell, as I only have one KB. This also points me directly at my goal of strict pressing 135 - 31 push presses of that weight must have some carryover!
Nice pressing man. Cleans looked decent for being your last set. I would be throwing that shit up anyway I could by set 31 and then flailing to get that bastard overhead…which I probably couldn’t.

60 swings last night.
This morning,
Giant set, 5 rounds:
-5 bench press 145,165,175,185,185
-10 ab rollouts from knees
-10 lying leg curls.
Sunday
Very little sleep
5 lbs lighter- thanks low carb!
1 mile 40lb vest walk. Another walk no weight about 3/4 mile.
30 burpees.
A few press singles.
Close to 0 carbs again
An English muffin!
Inspiration lacking the past 2 days I’m afraid, as I’ve been barely hanging in. But got better sleep last night, and this mornings plan is my brutal Monday routine- 531 deads, then FS to death.
