A Kick in the Calves from ‘98

Holy balls, guys. I’ve been home from the gym for a little while now and my calves are still burning. Check out this article from ‘98. I have good sized calves, and they grow best with 2x a week training, moderate weight, long stretches at the bottom, and holds at the top (tippy top, not that halfway up bs), but I was getting bored of the same old routine I was doing and tried this. One high volume day and one low volume day.

Just finished the high volume day, it’s 16 friggin sets.

3 sets of Seated Calf Raise at a 101 tempo for 10, 5, 5 reps superset with donkey calf raises for 30-50 reps after every set (did 30 for the first workout, I’ll probably add 5 each time I do it).

Then 10 sets of standing calf raise done like a drop set, you only rest 10 seconds between every set and keep dropping the weight. I don’t do super heavy standing calf raises so I did 180 down to 20 dropping 20 lbs every time and the last set BW. Goooooooood lord the pain, the pump, the inability to walk on my tiptoes currently.

Try it out, an oldie but a goodie for sure.

People actually train their calves?

The best steaks come from open range calves with a solid diet of grass. Only way to get good beef

I feel like that may be the single greatest I-don’t-train-calves joke ever made.

If it doesn’t get at least 50 likes I’m leaving the forum forever.

If @T3hPwnisher has nothing to rival it pun-wise, then it may indeed be.

And everyone should train calves!

These calves haven’t been trained …yet

Otherwise, I got nothing.

I don’t know. That white one on the tracks’ jaw line doesn’t appear natty. Definitely been pumped with hormones.

Roving gangs of rowdy drugged up bovine?

Geese, what next?

The goose looking straight at you, definitely not natty either!

He definitely has some sick calves tho

I got charlie horses just reading the article.

Darn auto correct.

Like I said in the bear thread, they get all cocky pushing ducks around, then think they can do the same with trains and stuff. They gonna get turned into snarge!

I leave it to the prowler and carries. I used to train calves a lot and I got maybe half an inch growth for A LOT of effort.

Since doing prowler and carries, I’ve seen at least another 0.05 inches added but atleast I get other benefits.

Sure those geese look juiced up, but they have neglected to train their calves…pathetic
