Sorry for the hijack, Chris. I know you’re none the wiser about bike options but at least you brought the few 20"ers and DH/FR guys on the board together.[/quote]
I’ve learned a ton. Appreciate it!
What, no wipe out pics? Busted skulls? Twisted piles of chromoly and discarded limbs?
I am going to buy another one after taxes I used to freestyle years ago as for brands Haro,GT,Hoffman are good brands the thing is bikes have changed so much since the late 80’s I really cant stand them now kind of like 80’ metal now linkin park and chavel stuff is crap. Anyway’s Haro just released the old version of the Haro Sport It was a good bike for the time. I wish thing’s could go back to early 80’s and 90’s for a day. As for skate boards Santa Cruz,Tony hawk,Rob Roskopp good stuff

I’ll dig some short vid clips up and post them Monday. Might even star in a few myself this weekend!
Dein, good luck this weekend. East Coast Pull!
As for your diet, when I roll into town all bets are off cuz we’re hitting the Country Buffet.
When I was a teen I had a 24" Kuwahara and it totally rocked in black and chrome. So that’s bigger and meaner than a BMX. I really shouldn’t have sold that bike when I was 17, it would be awesome to still have that around.
Mountain bikes are great, though. You should see that crazy bikes that I see every day, living down from one of the most popular mountain biking areas in the world. The line from Deep Cove bike shop includes the “Handjob” and the “Hummer”, or come on, wouldn’t you just love a “Playmate”, Chris? Cove Bikes
I can’t believe that it has taken me this long to find this thread.
err just to echo what others have said I think Chris wants a cro-moly framed dirt jump style bike with a 21 inch top tube

You asked for it
Do this…

and you end up looking like this!
Hey Shugs, why are you so sure that you “definitely don’t want a mountain bike”? Have you seen the new generation of dirt jumping frames? You can pretty much do anything on one of those you can on a BMX bike but you can also do some trail riding and the suspension definitely makes cased landings easier on the ol’ joints (we all know you aren’t exactly a spring chicken).
Not trying to diss on the BMX crew but freeriding takes every bit as much nerve and skill (have you seen the pics of Kyle Strait nailing the 70 foot gap/ 30 foot step down with a suicide no-hander to win the latest Red Bull Rampage?) and also leaves you with more options of terain to terrorize. Just a thought, maybe you should leave your options open.

This is the last one…
I’ve got to get back to work.
Ride Hard!
Interesting variation on the classic lipskid!
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who hasn’t yet perfected the front wheel landing.
All of the equiptment recomendations look great.I ride a mongoose ex- comp with B.F.R.s after turning the stock rims into tacos. It holds up real well. Are any of you guys racing at South Park this year?I haven’t ridden much in a few years, swithced mostly to mountain, but I still like to go to the track and hit a few jumps every so often. It’s nice having the track within a couple miles of my house. If anyone is racing there this year I’d like to go over and check it out.

Yeah, my only pref for a BMX bike was because I have a mountain bike. It’s a cheapy though and no, I didn’t know about the dirt jumping frames. I’ll check them out.
BTW, bikejames, did you know you won a couple of T-shirts or something in a T-Nation contest? Check your PM’s. I don’t think you ever claimed them!
and, with the prices of a good bike these days, theres not much need to have to make an either/or choice.
My mongoose was only about $450, & the G.T. XCR was about$900. I could have gotten much better of either one for the same total, but I’m never going to be racing pro in either field.
Campy … pretty gnarly dude. That’s why I wear a full-face!! Get some good leathers too, lol.

No kidding! Just bought one for myself.
