A Friendly Challenge - Battling Program ADD

No lol

Ugh I no longer have the shoulder mobility to properly rack a clean. Best I can do would look like a reverse curl.

Just putting this out there - Brian Alsruhe just put a new program on his YouTube (I’m obviously not working hard today) and you have 72 hours to declare…

I just got an invite to WPC world championships in Finland in November. I may have to bail on my current program 2 weeks in and switch to heavy training sharpish if I want to compete.

There’s still time to call an audible! I’m calling the deadline September 1st to call your program. Late entries/participants will be welcome, but anything posted on or after September 1st will be considered the commitment.

And congrats on the invite!

That’s amazing - congratulations!

I’ll be taking full advantage

Thanks dude. Hopefully it will make my training log more interesting for the next few weeks if nothing else. If flights aren’t too expensive to bother that is.

Hey, I’ve been running my mouth about trying HIIB but I’m still considering other options. I went straight to Brian’s YouTube page after seeing your post earlier…

I don’t really know why, I can’t freaking do any normal training anyway.

It’s in our nature, and why you (correctly) built this challenge! We can’t avoid the shiny…

I also keep getting seduced by everything I see; then I think about how hard/ deterring it will be for me to try to pull off when I’m on the road, and I try to settle back into reality - for 2 weeks before I decide I want to do something different.

I can see your will already crumbling into tiny pieces mwahahahah

I can start and finish a program. My reasons for doing this is that I need to pursue the same goal for more than 12 weeks at a time. I know this is only slightly longer, but it’s a good start (assuming I can train fully soon).

Ahah yeah I don’t think I’ve done something for more than 12 weeks in a row. Anyway I’m just pretendin’ cause my mind was already glancing over an O-lift program and I never did that before ahahah

I think this is a good time to try something new and uncomfortable. It’ll test your commitment.

January is when I’ll try something new and uncomfortable. And of someone else’s choosing.

So I know what I’m doing through the end of the year. It’s a basic A/B workout.

WORKOUT A
Back Squat
OH Press (ss: Chin-Ups)
RDL
Dips/Push Ups, Curls, Face Pulls, Traps

WORKOUT B
Deadlift
Bench Press (ss: Rows)
Front Squat
Lunges/Split Squat, GHR, Abs, Back Ext

I’ll just do it every other day. One day a bit heavier (5x5 type) and another day lighter (4x8, 5x10, etc). Assistance will be 3-5x10-20.

Got a lot going on, so just going with a basic template to COMPLY with this challenge!

Just came across this thread, don’t wanna read all 200 posts. Can someone give me a TL DR on this? I have a coach, and I just do what he tells me to do every session. Does this count as a program?

In a nutshell, starting Sept 1st, you gotta just stick to the program of your choosing through the end of this year. So for you probably just means sticking to what your coach tells you to do.

That looks just like the programme I was trying to think of!

I mean I really want to but I fear I’ll lose some muscle and I want to start at first in a slight deficit in this is not a program to be done in a deficit
