A Dog's 531 Journey

Well that was a busted weekend. Spent Saturday getting the basement ready to drywall tape and mud (gotta get the house in shape to sell) and then preparing my financial statement and budget for tomorrow’s divorce mediation. Sunday was blown clearing the driveway of a foot of snow and then moving my soon to be ex to Boulder.

Best thing is the immediate stress reduction and our cooperative approach to this divorce. Gonna be a busy couple of months getting the house fixed up while working a bunch of overtime…[/quote]

Good man. Do what’s gotta be done, get past the crappy stuff and look forward to something better.

Sorry to hear you’re getting divorced. It’s good that it’s a cooperative one, but always sad to have to end a relationship. Hope things work out for the best for you, the ex and the youngsters.

George, I’m glad to hear that things are getting resolved. I hope things go smoothly, and it gets better on the other side.

Thanks Kevin

Thyroid numbers came back normal - guess I must be depressed. go figure…

We’ve all had those times where everything seemed to crash around us. I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing them now.

I can’t say I’ve ever been diagnosed as depressed, but I’ve “felt” that way before. My doc’s advice was to make sure I’m exerting myself in some fashion, eating enough good food, and sleeping 8 or more hours. He was unyielding on the exercise and sleep. I ran for the exercise, and I started backing off at work to help me sleep. It wasn’t immediate, but I eventually started to feel like the old me.

Just wanted to share that with you so you don’t feel alone. Keep fighting against the iron, don’t let yourself get too hungry or too tired and these tough times will eventually pass.

Damn man, sorry to hear about all the stuff going on in your life. All I can say is life happens and it’s got to get better. Iyaayas comments seem pretty good to me.
Oh, just for clarification, your role model is an alien who only gets horny every 7 years? Don’t want to be around you at the 6 year, 364 day point.

Live long and prosper. That’s all I have to say.

I’ve battled depression before. It’s a bitch for sure! Given what is going on in your life depression is par for the course. I wasn’t trianing when I fought the dark devil last. Keep lifting, the training will help you need less meds if your doc’s take that route. Right there with you soldog. you will weather this fine.

All I can say is stay strong. I have danced with depression, and went through a divorce when I was still practically a kid. Try your best to keep focused on your training, it can be your Zen, your place of stability.

George, hang tough.
Sorry to hear about your old life changing but Resolution and moving on are good.

Lets hear about your new life.

I’m just now catching up, hope better days are ahead. On the lighterside, my mantard arived just ahead of me in WA and my sister opened the package. I am still taking shit about it. “What is a 40 year old man going to do in that?”

Thanks for the support everybody.

SD- Good luck with your next Cycle…getting back to the iron will do you good. Be well.

Thanks OG - I’ll start up 5-3-1 again after the meet and will reset my maxes based on either the meet or my recent tested maxes.

indoor bike trainer 9 miles Race to Salina 319.5 to go.

My plan for the next few sessions is to work up to my openers using triples and do a triple at openers for each lift. This should give me some confidence and get me used to doing all three lifts in one session. That will be Sunday and Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we’ll be in Breckenridge snowboarding.

Then I’ll do two more sessions with triples and one working up to openers stopping with singles at openers on Thursday before the meet. I lift Sunday December 6th in the afternoon starting at 1pm. 11am weigh-in.

Sounds like a good plan, just don’t get too beat up snow boarding. I was going to do my normal 333 week the week before, then the week of work up to my opener on each lift the Tues before the meet, then do nothing the wed., thurs. and fri. before. Hmm. I may give this some thought.

Good to hear this. As Pete said, keep lifting, it will help with sanity.

One day at a time.
