Good work soldog. And listening to your body doesn’t make you a pussy. It means you’re being smart.[/quote]

Agreed.

It can be fun and good for mental toughness to sometimes push yourself farther than you should, but to systematically set up your programming that way is at best going to lead to poor results and at worst get you injured.

I’ve had similar issues with the 5’s week and have stopped with 3-4 reps in the tank when on the 3 and 1 weeks I’d push to near failure.

Nice work!

Thanks LS, Rugger,

but you know it still feels like wussin’ out…

nice work soldog!!
did you MP for 15 reps that is great!

I know what you mean. My right shoulder is evidence of not “wussin’ out”, though.

That is also the sign of an achiever…wanting to do more than is required. But, as you know, it is better to live to lift another day

Sure is a lot more sensible than injuring yourself.

BTW, just figured out that Wado moves from the ball of the foot vs. Shotokan which drives from the heels.

Making serious progress suddenly.

Pull from the front instead of pushing from the back, too.

Bike 10m, sh reh, face, pull aparts, OH Squats barx10
Squats barx10,5,5, 135x5, 165x5
195x5, 225x5, 255x5
Natural GHRx8 Band assist x10,10

Finally remembered something the late, departed skidmark did using bands and the power rack. This works the hams better than falling on my face.

Everytime I come here you’ve made progress. Let us know if you find focusing on a specific date/meet helps with the training.

Winter is just beginning…

I’m not dead: Like a caterpillar, I’ve gone through a process of transformation to become the beautiful and graceful Charming Albino.

Send some our way!!!

Stayed home with the beginnings of kmacs flu to work from home (instead of sharing it at work) and ended up shoveling wet, heavy, cement-like snow for over an hour. We got about 10 inches yesterday and are under a winter storm warning for another foot tonight. Had to be shoveled today as slush instead of tomorrow as ice…

Great lifting, and you can keep your snow please! Sorry to hear about the lose of your dog, It’s nice you can keep him close though…

Sh Reh, Face Pulls, Pull aparts, LYT, push-ups 10/10
Bench barx20, 85x5, 120x5
140x3, 160x3, 180x4.5 (F*%K) PR anyway +2 reps

170x1,1,1 Competition cadence
BBB Bench 120x10x 4sets, x8
Db bo row 95x10x3 sets
Dips 5/5 Gotta figure out how to use the bands. These strain my shoulders too much at full bodyweight

Bench 170x1 Competition style

Is this the approximate cadence I can expect at a meet?

I was sure rep #5 was scheduled for racking, it actually surprised me when it went back down. Nice work!
