Nice work soldog. The squats, among other things, are really coming along.
Like the musical selection too…but I couldn’t lift to it

Thanks LS - I don’t even hear the music while I’m lifting and don’t seem to gain a benefit from getting fired up, guess I never learned how…
I think my deriving “energy” from the music is a throwback to playing football. I used to really get myself almost enraged. I use certain types of music to try to generate a similar, albeit controlled, mindset. On max attempts, be it reps or weight, I actually get angry with the weight. At least when I am feeling normal. That’s just me, though.

As evidenced by the density of my body hair, and frequent guttural sounds, I am not quite as evolved as most of you…

Talk to me about body hair - just take a look at my profile pics…

Nice work!
those squats looked good, looks like your other work has been even better.

Im going to check in again later after the make up candy and body hair discussions subside.

doing some solid work dog.

kmc

Those squats look great soldog, very strong.

keep it up!

thanks kmc, dz and mj

tonight 30 minutes indoor bike trainer hill intervals

just enough to work some stiffness out of the legs and soak my shirt.

Friday night theme song…

I drink alone, yeah, with nobody else.
I drink
alone, yeah, with nobody else.
Yeah, you know when I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself.

Now, every morning, just before breakfast,
I don’t want no coffee or tea.
Just me and my good buddy Weiser.
That’s all I ever need.

Cause I drink alone, yeah, with nobody else.
I drink alone, yeah, with nobody else.
Yeah, you know when I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself.

Now, the other night I lay sleeping,
And I woke from a terrible dream.
So I called up my pal, Jack Daniels,
And his partner Jimmy Beam.

And we drank alone, yeah, with nobody else.
We drank alone, yeah, with nobody else.
Yeah, you know when I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself.

Well, the other night I got invited to a party,
But I stayed home instead.
Just me and my pal Johnny Walker,
And his brothers Black and Red.

And we drank alone, yeah, with nobody else.
We drank alone, yeah, with nobody else.
Yeah, you know when I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself.

Well, my whole family done give up on me,
And it makes me feel so bad.
The only one who’ll hang out with me
Is my dear old Granddad.

And we drink alone, yeah, with nobody else.
We drink alone, yeah, with nobody else.
Yeah, you know when I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself.

Cycle 4 Week 3 5-3-1
Bench barx10, 95x5, 115x5, 125x5
145x5, 165x3, 185x3 PR

BBB Bench 115x10x 5 sets edit to add this
a1 BO DB Row 55x20 5 sets
a2 Dips 5x5

Bench felt good today. I might have made 4 or 5 reps but called it quits after #3 went up a bit unevenly. Backed off on rows to give that elbow a bit more of a break.

Lookin’ great on those benches, soldog! Looks like we’re neck-and-neck on those, since my 3-3-3 week next week uses exactly those weights.

Race you to 225!

You’ve got a really good arch Soldog. I’ll wager your bench will be bigger than you expect in the near future.

Thanks DCA - I just need to keep building my base and gaining confidence in my abilities.

ah - that means you are already ahead. How 'bout a handicap?

hahahahaha you’re sooooo generous

Good benchin. My wife suggests, however, that you ditch the one-hole sweats and go with full chaps!

If I may proffer a suggestion:

On your BBB assistance, you might consider just doing bench to groove in the bar path and form. I think you’d see good results from that.

whoops - I missed that when I typed up the session. I did 5 sets of 10 at 115# for the BBB part of the assistance. Good suggestion though - Thanks.

but i like my sweats with the built in ventilation…

alright, I’ll save them for painting. BUT - no chaps!

Really great benchin’ soldog. It was obvious that you left some in the tank. I admire your ability to end a set when you feel needed, rather than being bullheaded.

Thanks LS, I reserve the right to be bullheaded and not wuss out early in the future.
