It’s not supported by Harris or the DNC. You have a comedian who wants to make a serious point by making a video that comes off as mocking the point he wants to make.
I don’t think anyone thought it was an ad by the Harris campaign. Especilly sonce it said it isn’t.

I don’t have any tattoos because I’ve never found anything I felt passionately enough about to draw it permanently onto my body. A bookcase, though…maybe.

The genisis for this idea was a photography project I did with building custom book shelves that were shaped like the subject in terms of size, color, and types of building materials.
The next step was filling the shelf with books about where you’ve lived, stories that matter to you, textbooks, guides to hobbies, dumb stuff you like - so that that picture was a shot of them next to the bookshelf to show their story.
Unfortunately I’ve moved around and lost any examples to show, but the tattoo idea felt like bringing that concept to life by inking your vellum.
Here are a few examples of what I was thinking, but you could go a million ways.
