What do you mean by people sweetening their logs? Like posting naked pictures? Are you suggesting that’s what we should do?
You should get into powerlifting. I found once I had meets to train for and specific goals I wanted to reach for those meets, training became a lot more focused and fun.
It was one thing to get a PR in the gym. It’s another thing entirely to get it on the platform. I’m sure other powerlifters will agree that it is a freaking amazing high.
Yeah, leg prss, bleah. I will carry on with it for a while longer because no doubt it’s hitting stuff that hasn’t been in a while.
Yes Naked pics please.
I mean exaggeration there are plenty of logs in the training logs section that seem too amazing to be true, less so in over 35 and far less so here.
I try to avoid the competition thing- I am very competitive, but its hard to do so it is not easy to throttle down or train sensibly
I played Judo, and wrestled in college and post college, and was happy for a while to not be competing.
I love to train, squat, and deadlift, but detest the bench press-
so I would have to work on that.

Okay, I see what you’re saying about exaggeration. I’ve seen a few of those in all parts of this site. Someone will say they squat xx amount of weight yet can’t pull xx off the floor. My instinct is 1/4 squats or something like that. However, I’ve met enough heavy competitors with tyrannosaurus short arms to know that it is feasible. I still think bullshit but would never call anyone out on it.
I just mock them in my head. I believe you see it less here. You’re also less likely to see it with people that compete because all results are published so it’s hard to exaggerate that.
I’m not a big bencher either. I don’t mind doing it because I get less anxiety from it because I don’t expect much.
