From the way I interpreted it, I’m pretty sure he just called you a prostitute…

However if that were the case, I’m sure you’d have figured out how to get a life sponser by now to pay for all your PL gear and meets

yeah, hello…

Not to mention my $700 hydro bill.

Maybe he just thinks I suck, but in a bad way.

No, I’m not accusing anybody of prostitution, sucking in a bad way, or anything else negative. Just being a goofball, which, for me, is no stretch at all.

All joking, kidding, etc. aside, the hydro bill sucks some major rectum. I’d be pretty f*ckin’ pissed, too.

I know you’re joking sweetie. I am too. I could still do with a sponsor though.

The hydro bill was not a good moment for me. Hopefully the plumbing repairs will have taken care of the problem. I feel like I’m hemorrhaging cash at the moment. I don’t even go to Timmy’s anymore. I make my own coffee at work and I’ve started getting groceries at the Price Chopper.

So do you beat up people at Price Chopper, now?

I may have taken the ‘Chopper’ part a bit too literally. I’m going to try Food Basics next.

Careful, once you’ve been banned from Price Choppers and Food Basics, you’ll only have No Frills left. So it may be best to take the out in the parking lot (without the car).

So last night at the gym I was one of ‘those’ people.

There was a woman in the rack next to me squatting. It wasn’t a ton of weight. At one point I think she got up to 135 but she was going ass to ankles for rep after rep and it looked completely effortless for her.

She looked new to it and her form was crap. In between sets I advised her to look up coming out of the hole since she was looking at herself in the mirror and it would help her get up. I told her I thought she could move good weight if she worked on her form.

I’ve never done that before but it was great to see her doing them.

I actually love No Frills but the one near my place was changed to a Fortinos. Most of those stores are now east end(ish) and I avoid that area.

See what I mean.

We’re only advising you on this 'cause we care. Ruggerlife is right; if you’re gonna beat some bitch’s ass for snatching (not in the OL style) an apple right out from under your grabbing fingers, it is best to let your rage build and knock the whey out of her once you’re safely out of the store.

That way you can get the apple and any other savory groceries she might have without having to pay for them!"

You know, I feel like a warm, gooey, chocolate chip cookie inside over the concern for my rage issues and how best to maximize their potential.

Ya’ll are truly great! (Did I sound American?)

Good! That’s how we’re tryin’ to make you feel! Letting you know not only that we care but also how we want you to feel like a normal store patron with nobody realizing who you are 'til you unleash your superpowers on some unfortunate bitch in the parking lot. I can see the poor slag with her head and hands stuck inside a shopping cart like the “old timey” stocks, while you’re wheeling her around the parking lot kicking her in the ass and making her sing “I’s the B’ye.” Keep an eye out for the Police so that you can quickly turn over control of the shopping cart to one of your daughters, preferably the younger, so that no charges of any consequence can be filed and you won’t have to do any jail time.

Now, hold on!! I can’t count the number of times I’ve had Canadians inform me, unprompted, that they/you too are “North American!” I do dig the use of “y’all;” I appreciate your overture by using a word of my native Southern tongue. By all appearances you normally prefer the sword to the pen; your use of my “language” tells me that you’re really trying to be “sweet.” It is appreciated.

I chalked my own back and ass today. I find it difficult to keep my arch when I unrack by myself. The chalk seemed to help although I did get comments a bit later. A guy pointed out that I had something on my back.

I hunted down the dip belt at the gym and asked one of the guys to show me how it goes on. He had previously been asking me what I’m training for. He must have seen me in my super smexy squat suit.

Because I’m kind of narrow, the plate hung almost to my feet even with the chain doubled. I felt like I had one huge swingin’ ball.

I just threw this set in as I was leaving.

Today I was very Betty Crocker/Amish and made my own protein bars. They’re very good. I came across the recipe on Stronglifts.com.

It is:
3 1/2 cups whole oats
5 scoops protein powder (about 200grams)
4 tablespoons peanut butter
1 cup milk

Just mix it by hand - literally, use your hands and mold in a square shape. Refrigerate and cut into squares. I cut them into 12 squares with about 20 grms protein and 225 calories each. They taste delicious and I wrapped each individually for portability. The cost is about 50 cents each versus $2-$3 for the ones you buy.

Okay I’m on a fiscal cutback but they are very good.

Call yourself what you want but I think it’s brilliant!

I’m gonna try that out, myself. I can already see where adding cocoa powder would be good or some diced up apple. If you’ve ever smeared natural peanut butter on apple you know how fuh-riggin’ good that would be. And with some cinnamon mixed in, too!!

Lots of variations that would keep that recipe “fresh.” Mixing in some baked sweet potato is another thought.

Sorry, I’m way into cooking/baking; I see any sort of recipe and I’m immediately thinking of variations that can be done.

Thanks, ourboro_s, for posting that recipe! GREAT idea!!

That’s a great idea adding some apple. I’ll have to think what else would be good. You could make it with almond butter instead of peanut butter and that might mix better with other dried fruit. Dried banana chips would be good.

Maybe I’ll wander over to the bulk barn and see what they’ve got there. They have everything. Just ask Diana B.

I’m sure there’s a million similar recipes around. I’m open to any ideas for strength building for the fiscally challenged.

Add M&Ms, that would be good.

That’s just a plain good idea. Why spend a lot of money when you can spend a lot less and come up with something a little better that’s tailored for your specific taste? I think it’s just an all 'round fantastic idea. Especially the almond butter. I like the thought of perusing the bulk barn, too.

M&M’s!! Wow!! Doesn’t take too many of them to add a good flavor, wait, I’m talking to Canadians . . . flavour ;-), that’s a great idea, too. My metabolism doesn’t lend itself to M&Ms but you ladies can get away with it!!

The front of my left shoulder is killing me. I’m going to wait until Thursday to bench again. The unaccustomed benching every second day is taking it’s toll. Hopefully, a four day break will sort things out.

Squat
45x10
95x5
135x3
165x1 (suit on straps down)
195x1 (Suit on straps up - no wraps on any squats because I had 60 seconds between sets and theres no time to wrap)
205x1 I had to dump on the second rep. I ended up in a sucky position and got stuck)
205x3
205x3
205x2 I had to dump the bar on the last rep. I wasn’t fast out of the hole. It’s like it was difficult to hit depth. At least it felt like I wasn’t hitting so I wasn’t coming up right away. It’s almost like I was staying in the hole searching with my ass for proper depth.
195x3
195x3
195x3
195x1
195x1
205x1
205x1
The singles at the end were really focused on form and hitting depth. There was a couple in the rack next to me that I was chatting with off and on. They were super impressed with the weight I was moving. I guess they didn’t realise quite how much I was sucking.

Anyway, on the last rep, I asked them to do a depth check and showed them what to look for (hip joint lower than knee). They said I was good. Maybe the others were fine too and I’m an idiot.

I wasn’t wearing wraps and I’m wondering if they really make such a big difference popping out of the hole.

I ended up chatting with the wife in the change room who kept going on about how strong I was for someone so little. She said she’s almost 50. I said I’m 44. She thought I was in my late 20’s. I reeeeeally like her

I described PL a bit and she said it’s something she might be interested in trying. I said I think she’d love it. I hope to see them there again. Hopefully she’s trying it out.

After all the squatting, my legs are ripped to shit from the suit.

Power cleans
95x2x3
100x2x3
105x4x3

Chin-ups

Medicine ball sit-ups
15lb ball x 50 sit ups

I really feel tapped out at the moment. I don’t know how much is the increased volume and how much is pms. It’s been over 7 weeks since my last one so I have no idea where I’m at. In addition, my hair looks completely fucked up. That often happens when I have pms but it may also be a result of the shitty hair cut I just got.

Fuck!

This is how my legs looked after today’s squat session. Probably the worst in a while.

holy*&^&^*^…looks like you got attacked by a ligra!!(napoleon reference there)…

you girls and your injuries!! hope the shoulder gets better…

Have you been to the doc recently? just about health in general?

Tuesday February 24, Gym

I skipped bench today to give my shoulder a rest. My left one has been bothering me a bit and after getting pinned under 105 on Sunday I thought I’d leave a couple more days to rest.

Deadlift
135x5
155x3 - Conventional
155x3 - Sumo
205x1 - Rest of DL done sumo
235x5x3

I haven’t done it like this in quite a while and I found it much easier.

Rack pull - just below knee
225x5
245x3
265x3
285x2
305x1 - This is a mini PR for me. My target final pull in MJ is 137.5 kg (302.5 lbs) so at least I know I can easily lock it out.

weighted chins
25lb x 3
25 lb x 1
10 lb x 6
10 lb x 4
10 lb x 3
bw x 5

These were hard as hell to do after deadlift and rack pulls. I did them on the cable thing working in with a guy who was not only cute but friendly. Too bad he was about 24 :frowning:

bb rows
95x10
95x10
95x8

Cable tricep push downs
75x15
75x12
75x8

I don’t know what is with their cable thing. It must have 7 pulleys built in for ego because normally I can’t do 75lbs. I was moving almost 3/4 of the weight stack. I felt so stroooong. Pretty hilarious.

weighted sit ups
15lbs x 50

I forgot this one. Tonight I saw a guy wrap his knees for the leg press. He wasn’t doing a tight PL type of wrap so it must have been to keep his knees warm or something but it was pretty odd looking.

I have to admit I had bitchy thoughts. When I was doing weighted chins, I kind of had to look at the frat boys doing lat pull downs watching me. I’m not catholic so this will serve as my baptist confession
