Okay, so I thought I would post this video to celebrate my birthday. Sadly it doesn’t involve a male hooker and a bench.

Be that as it may, I say a woman doing this on youtube yesterday and thought it looked ubercool (still not about a hooker).

I attribute my amazing feat of strength to the liquid butter and raw mutton that I eat.

Behold, my one hand chin up.

(Okay the hooker would have been more interesting but still…)
Why didn’t you post the video of the hooker? I wanted to ensure he looked how he described… 5’5, 370lbs, bald, bigger boobs than both of us put together (if we were to make one boob out of our combined four). Otherwise I’m demanding a refund! A girl deserves what she wants on her birthday!

Some things are just meant to remain private. Let’s just say, the angels sang and toes curled. It may have been the funky smell that did that to my toes though.

Regarding the boobs however, my cat has bigger boobs than our four combined so I don’t think that was much of a stretch.

You gotta go ALL the way down on your pull-ups and chin-ups.It’ll help develop your back and shoulders for DL.

TNT
Awww come on TNT… give credit where credit is due! She wasn’t doing this to develop, she was doing it because she was excited and proud that she could. Don’t rain on her parade

Hey that is neato! I’m impressed.

runs to chin up bar

Yep, you are definitely stronger than I am. I did get one for each arm though.

That’s exactly what I did when I saw it on youtube.

It does have a cool looking factor to it. I found it to be easier than I thought it would be. The next challenge is one arm only. When I tried that, I just kind of hung there like a monkey.

Haha, exactly. I’m judging my progress on one arm pull ups in terms of centimeters. I can’t even do negatives, I just fall like a rock.

Wednesday November 19, SC

Bench
45x10
65x5
92.5x5
102.5x3
112.5x0
I didn’t make another attempt on this because my delts are still killing me from my Monday night dips. It isn’t a lactic acid build up sore muscle pain so much as the start of an injury type of pain.

All my reps were difficult from the outset and the pain just kept getting worse.

On Sunday, I’m dialing the weight down again a bit to see if I can hit a mini peak in Ottawa and not hurt myself.

The up side is that my bench already sucks so it’s not like I’ve risked a big money lift. I will probably end up doing what I’d hoped to do on this one.

For the time being, I’m doing no more dips though.

92.5x5 (pause on last rep)
82.5x10 (pause on last rep)

DB bench
35x3x8

CG Bench
85x8
85x6
72.5x8

Squat
45x10
95x5
135x5 (suit on straps down)
160x3 (suit on straps up)
185x5 "
195x3 "
205x1 "

The 205 was still really easy but the 5’s and 3’s are starting to kill me.

Bottom start squat
180x2x7 (at hip height)
200x1x5 (at waist height)

I went down in weight for these because I wasn’t doing it right. My feet were too far back and I was pushing with my back rather than my legs. I moved my feet forward and narrowed my stance a bit and it feels completely different. It’s a lot harder but I feel it in my legs now.

This actually made me giggle. ME! Giggle! And Andrew thought I was in a piss-poor mood. As an aside, do you think I was overly bitchy/moody tonight?? Honestly?

How did you find out you weren’t doing it right? Did you get some one-on-one time with your coach? While the star pupil sulked? I think you two are tied for teacher’s pet award right now since he called me by your name…twice… tonight and couldn’t even remember it afterwards.

I didn’t notice that you were in an unusually bitchy mood. But let’s get real, neither one of us is likely to be voted chirpy, cheerful cheerleader of the year.

When Matt was talking about lots of protein helping you to heal, I asked if I could punch him in the head to see how well it works. I think he secretly likes me.

As for Bill calling you by my name, he reminds me of my grandma that way. He also called Andrew by Matt’s name.

I won’t feel like the teacher’s pet until he summons everyone to look at how crap my form is. That’s when I know I will truly have arrived.

After you left, I showed my chin up video to Pete. It was still on my camera. I think he was scared when I asked if he wanted to see a video. Now I really think I scared him. It may have been slightly less weird had I shown him footage of bizarre sexual shenanigans.

Dude, I am so the most bubbly person in the world… or something like that

I missed that protein conversation with Matt. I must have been busy being a bitch to Andrew. As for showing Pete your video, I’d have been creeped out too hahaha.

And for the record, Bill will never call the team around to check out your crap form because you have perfect form at everything.

PS. How’s the diaramma coming? Ever since I saw that Simpsons episode where Bart burned Lisa’s Thanksgiving diaramma, I always wanted to make one.

She isn’t home until tomorrow at which point we can commence all the diorama fun. We’re doing farm communities. At least we better be. I picked up some plastic farm animals to use in it. I’d better get higher than a B this time.

I felt better after dinner this evening and was able to get out for some Christmas shopping. I tried to find a sports bra. I found a bra at La Senza that’s the colour of grey sweat pants. That will have to qualify for now. At least it isn’t a push up.

I woke up a couple of times last night from my delts. It really is good that I sleep alone because I woke up in pain, sat up and said ‘fuck me’ a few times before I was able to lie down and go back to sleep.

Then my sister called before 7am, waking me up, to wish me a belated happy birthday.

I just skimmed through your thread and I am impressed with your strength. Your hard work is paying off.

Get your shoulder checked out, if it’s a rotator cuff, you want to get some treatment sooner rather than later. I put off shoulder pain and it took 5 months to heal that bitch because of it. If you have a Kinetex nearby, they have the awesome ultra sound treatments, trust me, it’s worth every penny.

When I was at the barn Wednesday night, I was pointing out the location to Bill. It seems to be more muscular than joint related. I can dig my fingers in and feel it in the muscle. I feel better for having rested yesterday and will rest for another couple of days.

At least I hope it isn’t the rotator cuff. I’m pretty sure it’s the muscle that was beginning to strain. He said I’m leaning too far forward on my dips and it’s hitting my chest/delts more than my triceps.

neelydan has a rotator cuff injury from too many hockey scraps, by all means, if you can prevent it, you ought to. i still can’t do proper shoulder work 5 years later.

Maybe you wouldn’t get into scraps if you didn’t refer to yourself in the third person. That’s just weird.

I’m still convinced it isn’t the rotator cuff and just strain on the delts. I do appreciate the advice though. I’m very paranoid about any injuries which is why I’m being a wussy and laying off until Sunday.

It would be a shame for my massive bench to suffer.

By the way, when is the wedding? I really loved the pictures for your engagement.

I do it during games, too.

“NeelyDan’s open!”

“NeelyDan took a spear to his junk!”

June 5th, next year…I am assuming the role of prototypical male in terms of planning.

But I’ll be wearin’ a kilt, that much I know.

Dude, I got married on June 5th. Get your own anniversary.

Congrats!

Who’s the lucky guy? Does he curl in the squat rack too?
