Seriously though, I have two kids and a full time job. It isn’t that hard to fit this in because it’s a priority for me. I live a very plain life and have pared it down so I have no trouble fitting this in.

My sister sometimes says things like I wish I had time for…(whatever) but she spends time doing things like decorating her house. I don’t. I choose to do this. Everyone has different things they focus on at any given time.

I never really had my own thing that I felt so strongly about until I started this a year and a half ago. I just supported everyone else in their things. I love the way I feel about it so I will do what I need to do to succeed.

And I neglect my kids

You gave me a nice little laugh. Thank you! My husband and I think of gym times like brushing our teeth or showering. We just do it. We do it instead of cleaning or tv time. Once its scheduled you’ll never think about it.
Oh I feel like I neglect my little one. I cried one day and my hubby laughed at me :frowning: After working 10 hrs then 1-2 hrs in the gym I feel like she will forget me. Oh well good for her good for me. I too neglect my child

I actually do feel a bit guilty about leaving my kids alone when I train but my older daughter is in high school. It’s more that I feel like I should be spending that time with them. Then I give my head a shake. I think I’m setting a better example for them by pursuing something that is very important to me.

Also, I don’t think it hurts them one iota that they have jobs to do while I’m out. Next week they can steam clean the carpets.

oh man you crack me up. my little one is too little to have chores yet… she terrizies the gym for now! they get to watch her grow up.
I am glad someone feels like its better to set an example. I feel guilty a lot but my mom told me i am setting a healthy life style!!

You are doing really great! I wish I could do a weighted dip… You keep me inspired. keep it up![/quote]

Thanks very much for the kind words. I think I should qualify my dip information though. They aren’t proper dips. I have my feet elevated with a weight in my lap. I have no where to do proper dips. If I had to guess, I couldn’t do a ton of proper body weight ones. I can do weighted chins though. Does that count for anything?

I was having a conversation with Boy about wrist wraps and my quad development (two unrelated topics I know) when you started getting vocal. We both stopped our convo, looked at you and giggled a little. At least there were only 4 of us plus Bill there last night. Maybe Sunday you can put on a show for a larger crowd

He laughs at me whenever I get a bit vocal. What can I say, it isn’t the time to look ladylike and delicate.

I laugh at his big fat thighs and hair issues.

I’m still done in from yesterday.

As I was typing this my eight year old daughter just showed me the lovely job she did painting her fingernails with bright red polish. It’s all over the ends of he fingers and she looks like she’s been in some industrial accident and we have no polish remover.

My water bottle leaked in my bag and my squat suit was wet. I can’t begin to explain how much harder it makes to get it on. I had both Pete and Court reefing up on my straps and pulling me off my feet. I did eventually get it on. It was as much fun to wear as wet jeans. It did, however, work just as it was supposed to.M

y deadlift PR isn’t a real PR since I was wearing my squat suit. Still I don’t really care since that’s what I’ll be competing in. The 245 came up very easily and I think I could have done 255.

On the fun side of things, Court mentioned lesbians a few times and ‘the boy’ got a dreamy far away look in his eyes every single time. It was kind of like “Mmmmmmmm, lesbians” Sadly for him, she mentioned guy on guy porn and threw him off his squat stride.

Here’s the video of my 245 deadlift. Thanks to Court for the massive video skills

I don’t know how Pete does it - Pete is the “get everyone into the suits” guy. It was funny…almost like giving her a giant wedgie. It really should have been filmed because it was so special. However I think O learned an important lesson… get a new water bottle!

You could have easily. You didn’t struggle with it at all. Your hips came up a little quickly though. I especially love the “happy dance” at the end

Well I figured it would loosen him up a little bit cuz he seemed a bit cranky when he got there. Plus, once Bill arrived it became a full on ‘shit on boy’ day. Chest up. Shoulders back. Why do I have to keep telling you this? High. Set up fully first. And on it went. So I’m pretty sure the lesbian comments were appreciated.

He didn’t seem like a big fan of the pink belt idea though…

This one also really kills my forearms and helps my grip. I just realised today that when I pulled yesterday I did it without chalk and clearly there was no impact. I may become Popeye with huuuuge forearms and hands.

Tricep extension machine

Pullups

DB snatch

I just did these so I could write ‘snatch’ in here somewhere. Also I really don’t like upper body days but I like dynamic lifts like cleans, push press and snatch so I throw them in to break the tedium. Mind you, by the time I did the last set I was so tired, I almost broke more than the tedium.

On the good news front, I found a new tenant for my place. Yay! That is a load off my mind so as of December 1, there will be a new guy living in my downstairs

I bet he’d like the hooker idea though.

I thought I would add this video from Sunday’s training. It isn’t a heavy squat. It’s only 165 but it’s the first time I used the new suit with the belt and wraps as I gear up for Ottawa. It felt like magic; like I had no weight on my back at all. My raw max was 185 last time I tested it but it’s been a while. This gave me hope that I can add quite a bit to my total in the next 6 weeks.

It’s been difficult resisting the urge to just pile on the plates and see how high I can go. I’m doing my best to stick to the plan

That did come up nice and easy Julie. I started using wraps now and what a difference it makes! What is the date again for your Provincials? This is my last week of heavy stuff, then it’s time to back off.
Looks like you are going to hit some huge numbers.

Her provincials are Dec 6th. I’m thinking of making the roadtrip up to cheer on her and the guy lifting in juniors. Gives me exposure to a meet before my first as well. Not to mention maybe I can help get her into her squat suit if she spills water on it again…

Actually I noticed that as you were setting up on the platform for your dead… speaking of chalk did you notice the well placed chalk marks on one of our male teammates? Clearly one of them was engaging in some knob grabbing… and it wasn’t the usual suspect. I almost peed myself at the end of training when he was standing there talking me to me with white stuff all over his junk. I’m so immature.

You should definitely go, it’s helps to see what you are in for!

That is too funny. I never noticed the errant chalk. Next time I’ll have to watch for it. I’ve done it myself. Not my knob 'cause I don’t have one but I’ve gone to Timmy’s afterwards and later realised I’ve had my own handprints on my ass.

Nice lifts. You’ll do well at Provincials.
I’ll look for you in Timmies.

I never had a chance to see if the wraps actually added anything to my lifts but they sure did make them a lot easier.

Your Provincials are only a few weeks away now aren’t they? How are you feeling? What kind of numbers are you targeting?

Thanks for the vote of confidence on my lifts. I have a target of what I want to add to my London total. Without divine intervention I can’t see beating my chief competitors based on their previous contests but I want to tighten the gap significantly.

Our meet is Nov.16, so yeah it’s coming up fast.
I made a 190 squat last night and it felt good, so I’m looking to achieve that at least for the meet. 110 bench, I can’t get the 115 with a pause yet, and idk for the DL, I’d need 230 to make national totals, which is should be fine, I did 220 3 weeks back.

I need 523.5 to qualify. I wish there was a little more time to work out some form issues I have, but it is what it is.

You’ll be able to add a lot to your previous numbers with the suit for sure. Just adding wraps was a revelation for me.
