Who put that damn squat rack together anyway??? Oh never mind. That’ll teach you to drink beer while trying to assemble things.

It looks like you may have injured you left butt cheek. It appears to be protruding from you shorts. Could be swelling due to inflamation …or beer.

Build yourself some serious J-hooks.

Ooops…

In America, you crush weights. In Ontario, Canada, weights crush you!

Glad you came out unharmed. The rack did it’s job.

The moral here is pay attention. I had to watch the video to even figure out that I’d only racked the bar on the lip of the clip.

It woke me right up. Too bad it was in the middle of a solid set.

That would’ve scared the snot out of me!

Glad to see you weren’t injured.

Jojo, I hope you mean uninjured. Are you pissed at me calling you bossy? I wasn’t hurt at all. I thought it was kind of funny. I need to pay more attention to what I’m doing and spend less time living in my own little lala land.

I did finish all my sets afterwards though. I’m so hardcore in lala land.

I don’t think he meant that…

God damn I am the worst typist ever.

Yeah I mean weren’t injured.

Sorry.

Wow…

glad your ok.
I had a nice bomb out this Friday too, no video though.

Sunday May 24, GL Burlington

I was tired as anything for my entire workout. I’m not sure how much is I’m doing too much and how much is period related stuff that’s flattening me right now.

Warm up and what not

Squat
45x1x10
95x1x5
135x1x5
165x1x3
(5x1) x 5 - 195

I tried to use the band on these to check depth but the rack at the gym is constructed such that I had to back up to Montreal to reach it so I left it alone. I suspect at least half of my squats were high. My back was killing me. It felt okay when I was unracking but when I pushed my elbows forward I kept getting the stabbing pain in my back that made it hard to breathe deeply. Therefore, I kept moving alone and hammering away at it. I’m seeing the chiro on Tuesday morning. Ddot suggested what he thought it might be and I suspect he’s correct. I don’t think its serious but the pain is like a stab in the back.

Bench
45x1x10
65x1x5
100x1x5
100x1x4 - got pinned under #5
100x1x4 - Ddot was spotting me
100x1x3
95x2x5

Deadlift
135x1x5
175x1x3
205x5x5 Too took a look at a couple sets. Most were good with my hips down but the last set 2 had my hips up fast. As I fatique, I tend to pull my legs in and switch to back pulling.

CG bench
75x2x5

I started a new supplement today. I went to Popeye’s yesterday and tried to find BetaNox, a stimulant a couple of people have tried and liked. They didn’t have it but had one called Hemodraulix that is apparently similar. It has several selling points such as Up-regulates NO production, Improved synthesis and increases bedroom performance. As far as bedroom performance goes, I’m gonna change the sheets and dust in there like a son-of-a-bitch.

When I left the gym I called my daughters because they wanted to make some lunch for me. I ordered 4 scrambled eggs and 3 slices of whole wheat toast with jam. Sure enough, it was waiting for me when I got home and it was delicious.

After I devoured the unborn chickens, I headed out to the garage to fart around with reverse band deads. It wasn’t anything serious but I want to start incorporating them.

I used the green bands and secured them about my height off the pins (5’6")
I did
135x4
225x4
275x2
295x1
305x1
315x1
325x1 (this is the point I realised I wasn’t wearing my belt)
335x1

It started feeling heavy on the final rep so I left it for the day. I failed to lock out 309 at nationals so I’ll hammer away at this. I’m not sure how much assistance the bands give but it’s likely quite a bit even at the top of the lift.

Reverse band dead - 275 x 2

Reverse band dead 335x1

Watch my ass pop up first thing. For christ sake, I need to staple it to the floor.

you made that look easy!!

I don’t know much about bands, but how much do they help/make it harder?

Lookin’ good… keep that butt down!

Pillow basalts.

I went to school for geology. There is something called a ‘pillow basalt’-- lava that spews up from the ocean floor underwater. Millions of years later, when you look at them, you want to know which way was ‘up’ (in case tectonics flipped them over).

Because of their shape in outcrops, to remember how to tell ‘up’, the phrase we used was:

“Asses up, nipples down”

I won’t tell you how I remember “Moh’s Hardness Scale”…

Are you certain that was geology class and not ‘Penthouse’?

I’ve been tracking my food for 5 days and this is what the average looks like.

Calories range from 1729-2026/day. The low day is today so I’m going to be adding something else in. Protein is 123-150 gms/day.
