I change my vote, that is amazing.
N, I agree, beer boobies would be even better.
Beer Boobies.
That just sounds nice.
btw…Boobies are Gods promise to men that everything else in life is going to be just fine.
Really.
Kick ass in the training, PMPM. Own that shit.
So my coach’s brother wants to do some sporty filming or something, and he called me up to see if I’d be interested. I suppose I should wear more makeup. ![]()
No way. The only make-up you should have is chalk on your face from wiping sweat off of it
I love playing around with deadlifts while waiting for the power cage to clear. Teenage boys squatting 85 lbs, high. They leave, and I warm up with 135. Hehehe.
You’re such a showoff. How’s the training going? Can I live vicariously through you for awhile?

Training is getting back on track. I am finding that as much as I love having my basement gym, I really need to get out of the house to concentrate. I haven’t put on my suit or shirt yet, I will work in them probably weekly starting later this month.

Not that I have a basement gym, but I feel the same way about training, and about doing anything productive for that matter. Being at home turns me into a lazy ass.
What kind of sporty filming are you talking about? Will we get to see the results?

I don’t know and I don’t know. I need to give him a call but I keep spacing it. My head is on crooked lately.
Good Morning young lady,
Well its 7 week count down or something like that till the meet. How are you feeling? Have you suited up yet? Or are you going RAW this Meet? Either way its Puerto Rico, Outside of the Beach, the Fort in San Juan. I hope you have time to head up to Old San Juan. We pulled into there once while on patrol and it was a blast. Nice set up feel and the people there seemed way more laid back.
Either way enjoy the hell out of all of it.
I’m 9 weeks out, since it got pushed out a bit. I am not equipped yet, but I will be shortly. I’m feeling okay, not perfect but good. I’ve only got my one suit and shirt tho, so I’m always terrified I will blow one out. I need new wrist wraps, too, one of mine inexplicably loosens almost immediately after I wrap up.

What kind do you use? Inzer/Medal/APT.
If you use APT you can get those cheap and they deliver fast. But I understand I always have 4 pair in a bag ready. Because it never fails one always decide to roll across the meet floor just as I’m in the hole or on deck.
What size shirt do you need as a backup? I have a practically new 36 somewhere.

I wear a 40 regularly, and I think Ali’s got a 40 I could snag. I have a brand new 38 but I don’t know if I will be able to get into it and break it in.
I’m looking forward to the videos that will be coming shortly. Right?

Yes, mom…
Does anyone here use bands?
Specifically, I am working on my squat descent speed. I’m way too slow. I intended to hook my bands up so it was light at the bottom and heavy at the top so I could just dive bomb into the hole. I hooked some heavy bands up to the top of my cage and looped them around the ends of my bar with 275 on it, but the bands were just too strong and 275 was like, 135 at the top.
My question - how much will these bands stretch? I really don’t want to have one pop at the bottom of a squat with 400 on the bar.
I got a new bar that is rated to at least 600, so I’m thrilled about that. ![]()
Does your cage allow you to hook them closer to the bar so they’re not already stretched when you unrack?
Robb and I do this exercise all the time. The way we do it is that the bands still have a touch of slack at the top but increase tension during the descent. It does help with learning to drop and bounce out of the hole, sort of like a suit works. Robb has bands of different thickness. Hence, different tensions.

Yeah, I don’t have band pegs. I could attach them to the safety rails, and put them up high, if I had a spotter. I have a full set of bands, I was just using the biggest ones because I’m a scaredy.
Now that I think about it, I could rig up a safety device with exercise step things…
