A Beast?

My 15 years old brother has started to train 4 workout ago and he can squat 245*8+ reps (real reps, I have shown him to squat below parallel)He stopped at 8 and he told me he felt he could do much more, like 12-13 reps and that he is gonna put 2plates 25 next time

He has always been a naturally strong kid but his performance just blow my mind. When he was a kid at the kindergarden the womens used to call him boum-boum (the little kid that was very strong in the flintstone I think) referring to his strength. He row the 80’s also and DB bench the 60’s . Being built for squat at this pace he is gonna squat 315 for reps in 3 month and outlift me in 1 year (even If I am still progressing). I cant imagine how a beast he will be by the time he is 18.

I don’t know if I am delusionned and if I view things bigger than they are but isnt 245*12 for the squat really really strong right from the begginning? For me it is much more than I started with

Blame your parents for giving all the good genes to him. But seriously, I think it is pretty good for a beginner. But remember, you were the one to show him how to do it correctly and hopefully he’ll live up to his potential.

And it’s Bam-Bam!

I could get that when I was ~15, but that’s not when I first started lifting. So yeah, i’d say that’s pretty strong for a beginner. Is he large for his age as well?

yes. He always looked like a little powerlifter from the day he was born

Yeah that seems pretty strong to me.

Boum-Boum.

LOL

Those number do sound pretty damn good…

Post some pics of him.
And make a T-Nation account after a while.

UPDATE

after 1 month of full body training, at 15 years old (8 month left before 16)

squat: 3155
DB bench: 75
(4-5)
DB row : 95*7

He is progressing way faster than I tought he would. he is still in his newbie gain so who knows maybe he’ll squat 405 soon. I am very proud and also kind of pissed off that he is so better at this than me

Make sure you are taking extreme care of his smaller muscles and ligaments. The last thing you would want to do it blow out your brother RC or have him tear something because you aren’t paying enough attention to the safety/injury prevention aspect of lifting.

Along with WestCoast’s comments, make sure he does mobility/flexibility work as well. Teens can have great form one day, hit a growth spurt and then end up unable to get into the proper position for a while.

I’ll check that out with him…as a beginner he is still doing a lot of stuff really wrong. I’ll update this thread when he’ll hit a 405 on the squat (maybe in a month or 2 LOL)

well believe it or not, today on april 8, 2010, after 3 months and 1 week of training, my little 15 years old brother squatted 405x1 followed by 365x5.

He outlifts me, who have been training for 20months, on the squat. I can barely do 365x3 on the back squat. He wont ever catch up in the deadlift that’s for sure. Maybe bench in a couple of months because he is a FREAK.

my little bother…I used to be stronger than him…I could dominate him when we fighted between brother…what have I done… I am doomed

With your post history I think it’s safe to say that no one actaully believes a word you say. Video

rectification: it was 385*4 and the 405 could be lifted twice. I’ll pm you a video Bonez if you really want

Funny, I told everyone “I could squat over 9,000!!!” and no one asked for videos.
