I have stated my position several times now. But you are caught up in who is saying it, and how it is said - which is quite telling.
All you have is the same fucking question. It has been answered, yet you keep asking it. Thought provoking? You flatter yourself.
You are the only one on here that says your question is anything but stupid - with the exception of a few of your soy-boy friends - and yet you continue with your incessant yammering.
You are a waste of time. The only reason I am engaging you is because I enjoy the fact that I can get under your skin. You have deviated from the discussion and have focused your limited capacity for coherent thought on trying to out insult me. Give it up, pee wee - it’s not going to happen.

It is the twinks like Mick-boy and airtruth that just have to yammer to make sure they get their 15 minutes of fame.
And just to throw my 2 cents in - why all the worry about preventing the accident? Do you honestly think that someone capable of squatting 800 would do so without proper warm up and stretching? It’s called an accident for a reason. That’s a far cry from Mick-boy getting trapped under a 135lb ME bench press because he was distracted by his PT’s rock hard abs.

MMMMMmmm…
Not a Power lifter, Not a Bodybuilder, but a aged steriod user trying to regain the toughness he never had in his younger days. So he roids up to talk shit on the internet.
Did you have the man boobs before or after the roids?
Hanly WTF? You start an arguement with opinions opposing mine only to use fact that show you apply what I say to your own training, but the guy in the video shouldn’t worry about it?.. You train with a guy who is not your friend? What do you do never say two words to him and just grunt? or are you just saying you go to the same gym as people who lift weights
and for pinto:
Please use a foon.
I’m done with this.

If you have a dip shit like airbud, or whatever the fuckhead’s name is, on your side - you might want to rethink your position.
He has been run off just about every thread he has entered.
But if you want to continue - go on.
I have respectable people on this site PMing me and posting in support, of calling you out for the blabbering idiot you have proven yourself to be - and you are joining forces with the single stupidest moron on this site.
For the love of God - wake the fuck up and realize you are not going to get anywhere by engaging me. Look around - you are teamed up with a fucking idiot.
No, what is telling is your assholish behavior on this site…over and over and over again. I wonder how many newbies that you’ve actually chased away with your inane behavior.[/quote]
Who knows? Better yet - who the fuck cares? I am honest. If you don’t like that - tough shit.
I do my job here. I call bullshit when when it is detected. Wanna take a guess at what I smell when you post?
If you don’t like how I convey my thoughts - don’t fucking read what I write. I could care less about insults. It really doesn’t even cross my mind. I don’t wear my feelings on my sleeve, and if you aren’t mentally acute enough to handle what I say - you need to find a more twink friendly site.
That’s laughable. I am going nowhere, and changing nothing. Looks like you shit out of luck - as no one is going to run me away from T-Nation. You evidently have no fucking clue who I am or you wouldn’t have wasted yet another post acting like you are some sort of enforcer.
Are you proposing that you know more about this site than me? Are you suggesting that because your panties are in a wad because you can’t run me off, that TC and Co. are going to rush in and protect you? LMMFAO!!! Dream on shit head.
Learned what? That you are a whiny little bitch? That I need to “respect your feeling”?
I dont see the reason behing the idea that no safety percautions can be taken to prevent this type of injury. I’m sure SOMETHING can be put in place to prevents weights from crushing people, even with a walkout.
I also dont understand why everytime someone suggested that in this thread he got attacked by all the He-man’s saying “Fuck you pussy, you aren’t a powerlifter, you aint dick, fuck off”

What kind of precautions can you take from twisting your knee or ankle (assuming you don’t have a bad ankle/knee)?

This is just silly. What can you do? Use a machine? Not get under the weight? Use less weight? It happened in a split second. Nothing could have been done. It’s the chance you take.
Why is this so hard for some of you to understand?
The only reason that Mickey, or whatever is going on about this is because he was told the truth. He can’t handle the truth. He can’t handle people calling him out. He can’t handle the fact that no one gives a shit about his question.
Come up with some decent preventative measures, and then discuss. Just saying “SOMETHING can be done” is empty and pointless. “SOMETHING should be done” about drunk drivers, and child molesters, as well.
But guess what? Shit still happens. There is no preventing that if you are a participant in society, or - in this case - lift heavy weight.
Nobody here really knows if this accident was preventable or not.
Whether you say yeah or no, its all SPECULATION.
Maybe his foot placement was off just a bit
Maybe he had ignored some nagging injuries
Maybe the weight was ever so slightly off balance
Maybe he scuffed his foot on the walk out
Maybe he lost focus for just a split second
MAYBE it was just a freak accident
However, I’ll bet the gentleman who broke his leg has since asked himself many times if there was anything he could have done differently to prevent it from happening.
Maybe there was, maybe there wasn’t.
Maybe he will come on here and settle the argument. I doubt it. He’s probably trying to figure out when he can get under some weight again.
In my eyes the guy is a badass for even having 800 pounds on his back. I hope he has a full recovery and hits the lift next time he tries it.

Can you say relevant once more?
Fuck off, kiddo - I am tiring of your fascination with me.
Your question is stupid, and getting older by the second. How about you start a thread about it and see just how fucking relevant it is?
It seems that those that think their input matters so much are the very ones that need to stop posting and just read.
I just don’t understand how you can keep crying the same damn song - when every fucking person in this thread except the “airtruths” of T-Nation has told you to shut the fuck up.
You need a new cause. A new reason for being a total dick. This is getting old - you have said the same fucking thing in your last umpteen posts, which amounts to “why don’t you shut up and leave, old man?”.
You won’t get what you want. Best you just go on about your little life and deal with the fact that I will be here every time you post bullshit.
Your tough guy routine needs to be tweaked, or you need to practice on little kids more. It is only making me laugh.

Good post.
There’s no question that some things can be prevented.
And quality discussion can sometimes cause those things to rise to the surface.

Mick,
Since you’re all for quality discussion on this matter, could you point me to the posts where you offered suggestions? If not, please post your suggestions, I’m interested to see what you think would have helped the situation.

He doesn’t need to provide suggestions. He has a fucking relevant topic. He doesn’t need to contribute. At least he hasn’t since he began posting a month or so ago.
You might want to try asking someone else that question. He is too hung up on trying to run me off the site to do anything right now.

Bear in mind that I’m an impartial observer of this train wreck thread but…
I think his original intent was to appeal to those with greater lifting experience to offer some suggestions as to what might have went wrong or what could have been done to prevent it.
I don’t think he was trying to imply that the lifter did anything overtly stupid or shouldn’t have been attempting the lift.
It seems like most of the people with PL experience simply said that “shit happens.”
Maybe that’s the case, but there is usually a reason why shit happens. (other than 800 lbs. is simply a tremdous amount of weight)
At this point I think we’re just having a good old fashion dick waving contest.
