800lb Deadlift Natty at 172-185lbs?

Don’t get into the 4 minute mile mentality, someone will pull it.

Personally I think anything less than a 800 pull @ 148lbs is pretty pathetic.

My pull’s in the mid 5’s. Does anyone wanna join me in the race to 900? That’s my next goal.

I am in if we are doing it at 198. If you must be over 200, I propose a catch-weight of 209, but we don’t want to make this to easy. Anyone could eat their way to a heavier lift. And no sumo, that shit is cheating.

OP, are you within 300 lbs of this goal? serious question.[/quote]
FC,
11 posts and a handle like GripMaster, com’on man!

On a serious note though, shouldn’t everyone involved in a strength sports be chasing a 900 lb deadlift at any weight. Lifting goals have kind of become that rabbit that I don’t think I will ever catch and I am just getting started. Every time I get close to the goal, the goal gets heavier. CT put the “No respect for the weight” mentality really well in his “Crossfit Apology” article.

Seriously,
Those short five foot nothings in the 165’s that sumo alway pull some nice lifts. I’ve seen 165ers out total the 181 guys. Big jump when you get to the 198’s.

Tom Eiseman deadlifted 800lbs at 181 and in my opinion was robbed with bad judging in 1986

I’ve met and trained with Tom. He is still a dead lifting beast. Google the lift and you decide

I had never seen that lift. That is very interesting. I can see why they called him for hitching, but man it was really close.

That’s pretty awesome, he’s still pulling 700+ lbs in his mid-fifties.

Interesting lift. Did he actually pass his knees? Gorilla arms for the win.

Is it you Andy Haman ?
