I can also argue in favor of Big Daddy Joel. While I said that I do prefer and do use a couple Acclimation sets, if I know the exact weight that I need to use for my target reps–which I always do–I wouldn’t have a problem getting the job done sans injury. I prefer the couple sets to get my mental game going and get the connection between my mind and muscles.
I am still a proponent of the Acclimation sets regardless. However, I only feel that these couple sets need be done for the first exercise of the session and/or muscle group in a session.
