5x5 Bill Starr Nutrition Help!

hey guys,

I’m sure this has been posted a gazillion times, but i really need your guys help. I am currently doing the bill starr 5x5 intermediate program and i really want to gain some strength and mass because my lifts are plateaued. I am 5’8 or 5’9 and i weight 163 pounds. I am 20 years old. My current deadlift is 380 pounds, my squat is 305 pounds and my bench is 180 (very shitty i know). I need your guys help with the caloric intake i should have. I want to know how many calories i should be taking in per day, and how much of this should be proteins, fats, carbs. I really want my lifts to improve, because i have been plateaued forever. I have tried to eat more than usual, but i just can’t seem to gain weight/build muscle. Can someone post a nutrition plan i can follow that could help me ?

I should probably post that i want enough calories to GAIN weight so i can build muscle :slight_smile:

What’s a current day look like for you so far?

Most skinny guys are inconsistent with eating enough, sure they’ll eat more on one day, but then a few days later the body naturally wants you to eat less. The key is to consistently eat more food, day in/day out.

If you’re already eating a consistent diet this will be very easy, if you’re not, then get to it.

While I’m not a huge fan of calorie counting, a general ballpark figure would be 20xBW, then adjust from there.

Eat
