I use humalog only training days… my protocol. 3 iu with my pre workout meal 400 boiled jasmine rice with chicken breast and tomato paste no fats after 1 hour 10 min start to the gym and eat 20 gram of haribo intra workout 30gr vitargo and post workout immediately 3iu just before eat 450 jasmine rice with chicken breast no fats again my blood sugar post workout is 80 to 100 and one hour after meal is 100 to 110
Why revive a 9yo thread to state your insulin protocol?
You should be taking more insulin for the amount of carbs your consuming. 1iu for every 10-15g of fast digesting carbs you consume.
I’m currently eating 70g carbs about 1.5 hours pre WO. No insulin with that as muscles are not primed and this could cause fat gain.
I take 25g carbs intra WO and then 30g carbs post WO with 8iu insulin. With the pre wo carbs still in play and my intra 8iu works without dropping BG too low.
Between pre wo meal(112g), intra/post(46g) and post wo meal(126g) your consuming +/-280g of carbs. I would at least consider the intra and post WO meal in your carbs for using insulin. Not saying take 20iu but you could def be taking 8-10iu no problem. I would raise a little and experiment.
Ok I could try … but imagine pre workout meal 400 jasmine with 3iu and one hour later my blood sugar is rough 80-90 it’s not the same for everyone…. And 50 fast carbs intra one hour later post workout before everything blood sugar 80-100 and again post workout meal with 450 jasmine and 3iu one hour later 100 to 110 …. My insulin sensitivity is working 10000%% fasting blood sugar from 75 to 85 …..
Personally I would skip the pre WO insulin and focus on covering the carbs from intra/post wo.
Taking insulin without fatigue on the muscle IMO is just asking for fat gain.
