Okay. On day two of Beginner 531 Full Body from Jim’s website. I’m doing this particular one and not one from the book. So…it’s 531 percentages for twice per workout in ABA, BAB format:
Mon.
Squat 531
Bench 531
Wed.
Deadlift 531
Press 531
Fri.
Squat 531
Bench 531
Mon.
Deadlift
Press
So on and so forth. My question, although obvious to many, is by using this format the deload or weight increase will take place on the 3rd week and not the fourth since it will take 2 weeks to run all 3 waves…correct?
It’s not an A/B workout. It goes:
Week 1
Monday: Squat, Bench
Wednesday: Deadlift, Press
Friday: Bench, Squat
Week 2
Monday: Squat, Bench
Wednesday: Deadlift, Press
Friday: Bench, Squat
Week 3
Monday: Squat, Bench
Wednesday: Deadlift, Press
Friday: Bench, Squat
Thats correct. The one on his site specifically (which is what I was referring to) is not A/B. After reading on tnation, his books, and google I found that it can be and there are different ways to set it up. I’m doing 531 each time A/B/A style and will deload on week 3 and then do something similar to what he has on tnation where only one lift is done 531 style while the second lift is 5x5 @ 70% if I’m not mistaken and rotated A/B style.
It’s the one where he mentions, ‘this may be my best work ever’.
Then treat going through one A and one B session as a week. Learn the principles and how to execute under them and you’ll always be okay.
