I have to disagree with you there guy. 2x bodyweight is 2X, no matter the bodyweight. It is the big guy/little guy thing I get tied of.
Well your opinion is devoid of support by facts.
If you think a 150 pound guy lifting 300 is the same as a 250 pound guy lifting 500, then you are absolutely wrong. THAT IS WHY THERE IS A WILKS!!!
This has been discussed ad nauseum on this forum and I don’t care to go over it again. If you are unclear, you should go search out the right information so you are no longer misinformed.
WILKS is a fine formula, I take no issue with it, although not all feds. use WILKS. That works fine when there is a big difference in bodyweight…even using WILKS you rarely see a ‘big boy’ take best lifter at a serious meet.
If you and I train together and I weigh 210-squat 460x5, if you weigh 240 you will have get 525x6 to equal my work, that is just how it is. I’m not sure about training in a commercial gym, but in the ‘hostle’ environment I came up in, if you can’t get it done, everbody knows.

Beyond idiotic. No idea how much mental gymanstics you had to do to arrive at that conclusion, but you should earn a 10 from the Russian judges. You’re now on the ignore list. I will no longer suffer the musings of fools on this forum. Have a nice day.

Agreed! Overall I like this forum. And VtBalla, even though you’ve given me a pretty good ripping, I’ll admit I enjoy reading your posts.
Here’s my thing about videos. I enjoy seeing meet write ups and videos no matter how strong someone is, because they’re sharing an experience. But IMO, when you post a video like this you’re secretly bragging and wanting validation. So then it better be really impressive. Its a good lift no doubt, but it doesn’t make me jizz in my pants. Richard Hawthorne deadlifting 600 at 132 makes me jizz my pants.
You were better off apologizing for your word choice.
The only reason you like watching a 132lb dude lifting is because you weigh 132. 500x11 is a damn good lift. For any weight class. It’s a level 99% of LIFTERS will never achieve. How are you NOT impressed?
I also don’t believe OP had to be ‘wanting validation’ or ‘secretly bragging’. He thought his friend did something cool. He was right.
As a side note on deadlift, most people agree that bodyweight has the lowest correlation to deadlift, of the big 3 lifts. That’s why you see so many scrawny guys dead lifting 400ish lbs, but you don’t see those same guys squatting similar weight. Which makes me completely unimpressed with your 400 DL at 130lbs or whatever it is you said you can do. A 400x1 DL is mundane, under any circumstances (unless you’re a child or a woman). 500x11 is not.
Also, never, ever say watching a 132lb man doing ANYTHING made you jizz your pants.
Okay okay. I tell you what. With the exception of my log, I will not post in here again until I hit 3.5xbw (462). Might not see me for a while…but someday. And of course I was joking about the jizz in pants thing. Just making a reference to the SNL video.
I think 500x11 is good
and i think 135 lbs guy doing 400 is pretty good too, I may not care to watch a video but i would think it definitely requires training.

lol, you’re obviously missing the point. You’re not getting ripped here because you posted, you’re being ripped because you shitted on someone else’s accomplishments. It really has little to do with what you personally can lift. The fact that you can’t come close to this just ADDS to the problem. You came in here with zero credibility, that’s all.

You’re a good dude. Don’t take my asshole comments personally. I am an equal opportunity basher. Feel free to contribute, but your disparaging of a very excellent lift rubbed me the wrong way.

Well, I did deserve them. It is a good lift. I’d imagine his grip strength has got to be pretty good to just hang on to that weight. I had a napoleon complex moment. Anyway, I might someday actually lift 500, but I’ll never do it 11 times, so congrats to your friend OP.
And BlueCollar, I had it coming to me. VT did what he should’ve done really. And look at his log. Hes a pretty strong mofo.
Lets just end this thread already and go eat some beef heart and potatoes…what could be more manly than that?

500 x 11 is pretty nice, he wasnt a complete fat piece of shit, didnt look like he had top notch form or a nice belt, give him that have him work with lower reps etc… im sure he would have a pretty damn good max. I respect it… I mean shit hes busting his ass hes working out, not sitting on the couch eating donuts lol

This is one of my good buddies deadlifting 500 lbs for 11 reps with no straps…he’s 6’2" 250 lbs. What do you guys think?
What do I think? Had to work out first what he was lifting in real weight. So, 226kg. So he’s about my height and weight. Last time I did a weight around that it was a couple of kg heavier and I did 12 reps. A few weeks ago I did 230x15. Not that reps really count if you are doing powerlifting. Which I guess he aint coz of th shit belt he’s wearing. Earlier in the year I did 260x10 and that was fun.
So, again, what do I think? Nice workout. Nothing special. Keep going. He might do something special in a year or two.

Those are both great lifts. Out of interest how much do you weigh and what is your max?

260 for 10 is a pretty damn good lift. I would think your max would be higher than 300 at that point.
