Officially in comp I haven’t done it, but for anyone that’s seen the video I think they’d agree I have one already.

The race is on to 550lb!

Hanely, when is your next meet? I plan on getting at least 501 officially in March when I finally get around to doing a meet. 551 will hopefully be in November next year.

I’ll race you to it, but you’ll clearly get it before I do. You might as well already have!

Good luck!

Next meet is on Jan 27th, then probably mid May and late June, then the last of the year next November!

The plan’s to hit an official 500 there, and probably 530-540lb.

Break 550 in the summer, then I’ll be doing a smolov cycle so 600 after that maybe!!

Again, lofty goals.

Another reason to bust my butt and try to do something about my squat.

You plan to get 550 & 600 @ 100 kg or do you plan on moving up to the 110s?

550 and 600 will be done at 100kg. I’m not moving up ANOTHER weight class any time soon. The plan is to get to a full 100kg at 12% bf. I’m about 98kg at 16% now.

Smolov’s probably gonna start mid-April for my June meet. It’s the WDFPF euro’s so it would be nice to post a big squat there!

Sounds like a plan. 600 lbs @ 110 kg would be a nice squat. I couldn’t complain about that one bit.

I’ve been considering leaning out to 181s and just dropping a lot of body fat since I gained to much going from 175 to 190.

Think it would be better to try for 550 @ 181? I have to lose about 8 lbs and I have about 1 year to do it before a competition. If thats a better goal, I’ll try to be a solid 181er probably for the last year of my life before moving up to 198s.

I appreciate any opinions. I’m just torn between both ideas. The weight loss would be over a long period of time w/ low impact, low intensity cardio when I can find the time.

How old and how tall are ya?

I held my weight at 198 for my first 18 months of comps. It’s not really something I regret doing, but with the move up in class my lifts have take a fairly large jump and I really feel I;m only beginning to get the gains that will come over the next couple of years at 220lb.

I’m 5’9" and 189 lbs at the moment. I’ve been training about 7 years. I’m 23. I make slow gains, weight wise, but since my metabolism is slowing down, I’m able to gain some extra weigh.

I was about 175 for a year and suddenly was able to gain 15 lbs out of no where. Now I’m here.

Titan single ply squat briefs and a crappy belt.

West Side, baby! Box squat with bands and you’ll be looking over your shoulder at 500 in no time.

I just got some knee wraps over the weekend and have a full squat suit somewhere over the U.S. via FedEx so I hope to break 600 soon.[/quote]

fuck, do i ever feel weak. I’m 5’9, 167lbs and you are completely blowing me out of the water. Got any vids? I’d love to see them. Nice man.

Impressive numbers all round guys, I’m seriously jealous.

About the same height as me so. I personally think 5’9ish is too tall to be a 198’er , that’s why I moved up a class. I wanted to get some better leverage going on. There might come a time in 5-10 years when I feel like I’m ready to move up to 110 but I don’t see it happening any time soon.

Your gain sounds like mine. I just figured I was holding my body at a weight it didn’t wanna be so one I gave it the food to grow I got all the muscle that I was due that I had been holding back on!

I wish I could say what my best squat is but that’ll have to wait until January at the meet since we never tested the max. In the meantime -

Weight - 308 at meet time(fatass)
Training - Meet cycle is Coan. All other times it is Westside.

Link to Coan squat cycle: http://powerpage.net/coansquat.html

Here’s a vid of my 455x3

By the way, I want to hit 700 in January.

Body Weight: 210
Current: 450X5 w/ belt.
Routine: I’ve used everything over the years, Sheiko, Westside.

Just finished Super Accumulation Prog, liked it.

Age: 23
About 190 lbs
Best recent squat = 405 to a low box

Hadn’t been squatting heavy for a while (I know, what was I thinking?), and just had my first heavy day back on wednesday. After working up in 5’s and 3’s (WS4SB), I hit 405 for a strong single on a low box. I’ve been heavier before, but didn’t go quite that far down, so it’s the bottom I need to work on. I think all my squats are gonna be to that low box from now on, just for the sake of reference. I want 500 before this time next year.

275 class(BW actually around 268 at the time)
630 sq

308 Class(BW actually around 282)
700 sq

Coan Squat routine for meet cycles with a little westside mixed in, Westside rest of the time.

Sorry to be the one to revive a dead thread, but I hit my goal of a 500lb squat last weekend at the APF Pine Tree Open in Westbrook, Maine.

It wasn’t my prettiest squat, but it’ll do the trick. (Yes, I’m aware that I walked a squat out of the Monolift).

This was 227.5kg or 501.5lbs on my third attempt.

(Video not working, I’ll send it to youtube)…

Since I did start the thread, I have to post this. I hit 501 lbs (227.5 kg) @ home yesterday. Now I just have to do it officially at a meet.

I believe I was 187 lbs, only used power pants, belt & metal wraps. Nothing to write home about, but this is the internet, so what the hell…

I hit my 1st 500lb squat in a comp today (Bournmouth Xmass Open, 16/12/07)

227.5 kg @90kg unequipped

Missed it on my 2nd lift and nailed it on my 3rd. Good days!

nice 20 lbs progress how long did it take?

How much does equipment help? Say your raw max was 405, what would it be all jazzed up?

Shizen,

In August, I was squatting 441 Hit 474 in Nov, then 501 Dec. Five or Six months to go from 440 to 501, i guess 6 weeks to go from 474 to 501. 474 was easy, and 501 was hard, so IDK. Is that clear? I might not be coherent right now, lol.

Rugby,

I havne’t really maxed, but i’d say my raw is about 405 now, and i get 501 w/ briefs & wraps. So ABOUT 100 lbs.

I don’t know if thats good or not, considering all I’m using are knee wraps and inzer power pants (crapy stuff, not even as good as the inzer champion suit).

Throw me into a Metal V-type viking suit and give me say 3 or 4 months and I’m guessing i’d add at least 75 lbs onto my max. I wouldn’t even need the straps. I guess I’d hit 575 to 600 w/ training in that suit, but who really knows? I can guess only b/c i’ve used that suit before.

As for double ply, I have no idea!

I hope i make some sense…

Right now I am sitting at a 425 for a double. I am hoping within the next 2 months to get 500, then it will be time for a suit.

6’1’’ 235lbs bodyweight

545 parallel box squat (w/ belt only)
