5 Tips You'd Give Yourself

  1. Invest a fuck ton of money in Bitcoin before it blows the fuck up.

  2. Start lifting(and reading bout lifting) earlier, granted 16/17 ain’t too bad but you sure as hell could’ve used it when you played rugby. And remember to run.

  3. Don’t get kicked in the eye by that fuck, do instead, completely destroy him on the field. Partially doing it wasn’t enough. (3½) Half measures do not work and they will almost always backfire.

  4. Do not study engineering. Do not study engineering.

  5. Even though you’ve been doing this all this time, I’ll reiterate it just cause it’s that important. Keep your social circle small and tight knit. Nothing ends friendships faster than money and woman(or girls in my case, I ain’t exactly old).

  1. Be consistent: in both your program and your training frequency. The most important thing to see change is constantly working towards it. Determine your goal and pick a plan that shows results similuar to your goal and stock with it.

  2. Nutrition. Learn about your micros need. Consult a nutritionist. Learn to cook towards your taste and dietary needs. Unless your on stage and need to be shredded, enjoy food as much as your training.

  3. Stretch or do yoga. You need to counter all that strength and condition work. Being more limber will help prevent injury, soreness, your daily life activity, and get you stronger.

  4. Measure risk and reward. Pushing a heavy squat when your knee is talking to you in a warm-up set; not a good idea. Reaching for a higher box jump at 40 and not playing sports? Wtf. Really heavy prowler push with tight calves… good bye Achilles.

  5. Have fun! Too many lifters are so serious about their gains and can’t let loose in the gym or in life. Nobody else cares about the size of your biceps. In fact, more people are appalled by the veins sticking out. Train hard, but remember to smile and laugh.

If your name were DT46, that’d be irrefutable proof. Donald Trump being born in 1946 and all.

That’s the length of my penis. It’s YUGE!

  1. You quit doing ketamine, you fucking pussy.
  2. Get the olympic barbell set, not the crappy standard one which will only go up to 150kg before breaking.
  3. Do some sprints as well as long distance running
  4. Keep going. Apart from the above three points, you’re doing fine. Don’t get lazy.
  5. Clean and press. Later on in life, it will become your principal leisure time activity and some practice now would make things easier later.

Mine would be mostly focused on diet - I’m thankful for all the mistakes I made training and what I’ve learned from it.

  1. Don’t eat like a hard gainer, cuz you’re not.
  2. You don’t need so much protein.
  3. Get your diet right before ever worrying about supplements.
  4. You and alcohol do not go well together.
  5. Envision progress as a long, consistent journey, not a destination.

I’d also tell myself it’s never to late to get back into lifting and training.

This one x1000. I really don’t get the whole “you weigh 200, so eat 4,583 grams an hour for maximum performance” shit.

I still need to hear them now:

  1. Don’t worry what others do. Hold yourself to your own standards.

  2. Try lots of things. Keep what works, ditch what doesn’t.

  3. More does not equal better. Punishing yourself might feel good mentally in the moment, but it detracts from you physically and drains you mentally over time. Performance>pain. Applies to the gym, but a lot of other areas as well.

  4. Recognize your mental struggles and react accordingly. Initial impulses don’t necessarily represent your real intent.

  5. Leave your comfort zone daily. Makes it a heckofva lot easier when it’s important.

Something that very few people in the general population do. It’s severely underrated IMO. Not only applies to physical stuff either.

I fell victim to this for a long time, eating anywhere from 400-600 extra calories of protein I really didn’t need everyday. I was basically under the belief protein calories didn’t count and the more the better. Stupidz

  1. Get back on track with training
  2. Use weights more than cardio
  3. Find time for extra rest
  4. Get sleeping pattern back in game
  5. Give back to the community more

In no particular order…

  1. If you don’t hit the changing rooms in a sweaty mess and you weren’t intentionally taking it easy, you probably just wasted your time.

  2. Eat more protein, proper protein from actual food.

  3. Don’t be a hero, if you’re injured you need to get it looked at by someone who knows what they’re talking about and let your body recover.

  4. Isolation exercises are not the devil.

  5. Quality of training over quantity.

  1. focus on the muscles that create the outline of your physique not the ones you think look best

  2. Don’t worry about what others think you train for yourself it doesn’t make you a douche and it doesn’t make you special

  3. Protein intake isn’t the end all be all you need less than what most people would suggest

  4. Abs and muscles don’t matter if you’re doing it to create purpose for yourself then its the wrong reason

  5. Training isn’t a chore its a routine but don’t take it so seriously make time for the other things

@jag17 nailed it on number 2. As soon as you learn to zone out in the gym and just focus on yourself, mmc etc it makes a massive difference in terms of the quality of your training and results.
