Thanks Soldog. That’ll come in handy.

I may be forced to foam roll. The crying will be terrible.

Very impressed with the milies there Tony. Nice work.
Thanks Joe. Trying to stay ahead of the pack, but seems I’m being caught up to…and passed, in many circumstances.

Note: I’m getting foggy around the third set of the second assistance exercise. I start losing my focus and ability to concentrate. And motivation.

Anyone else experience this on Boring But Big sets?

Great pressing, DCA. That should put you well above a 1x body weight press. I haven’t done BBB sets in a while, but I do remember them sucking (or me sucking wind) by the third set.

I experienced a similar thing. After the 2nd or 3rd set of the BBB, I was just done. Done as in, I am tired of doing this…loss of focus, drive and intensity.

I don’t follow the 531 to the letter, which would probably get me a reprimand from King Wendler (and I say that with extreme deference and admiration).

I’ve been doing my 5x10 in ramped fashion and strive for “around 10” on that last set versus straight sets of 10 reps at one weight. It certainly isn’t clear in the book and I haven’t seen him address the question, although he did mention dropping weights each set of ten (read that somewhere… book? forum? don’t know).

Anyway, ramping up to that top weight and not knowing that I’ll get 10 keeps my attention at least that long. Maybe try to ramp up sets?

The first time I foam rolled my IT band, I giggled. Good thing I’m not Catholic.

Yeah - he addresses descending sets on the assistance in the book. I may adopt that, but probably not since it makes too much sense.

Me no unnerstang. Fergot my smart pills scrip.

It’ll probably ruin it to explain it, so don’t feel obligated.

Great training Skid. BBB just hurts. The 5x10 reps with squats and deads puts me on the floor after every set. I lose focus for lack of oxygen. Then the next several days I need a spot to get out of a chair.

BBB not only hurts but it so fugging boring…
I had to use a paper and scratch out the sets or I wouldn’t do them all.

forced to foam roll - don’t make mobility and rehab the Brussel sprouts of your training

I quasi-super set my BBB work and my main assistance lift to combat this very thing. Well all but deads BBB work which would kill me to spuer set.

Nice pulling!!!

I wouldn’t do jack after that either.

You know what I meant about the foam rolling- don’t neglect it- but you’ve said you haven’t felt it before,
go PVC

get a 10’ length and make a slosh pipe- cut 1 foot or so off and foam roll with left overs

Holy crap. 385 x12 is awesome.

I was really pleased to hit my target for today. Well - I was really pleased once I could breathe normally again… I’m getting my conventional DL form back as my back heals up. Hips at optimal height, pulling back into my legs and humping the bar rather than the human crane impression I’ve been doing this last year. No pain or problems in the back at all these last two DL sessions or after.

Oh - I’m pretty sure I’ll feel it tonight when I do it.

Good work, DCA. You will acclimate to the money-set reps in short order, I am sure.
You were right. I didn’t feel pukey after DL today. Breathing like a rhino in a marathon, but not pukey.
