5/3/1 - Makin' the Reaper Wait

Good stuff over here.

Wife is continually pissed at the time I spend training, the time I talk about training, the money I spend in relation to training, etc. Unfortunately I am going to keep pushing the envelope, especially over the next few months. I always explain to her that I could take up hunting and fishing, like most males in this area, and spend more money, and be gone for whole weekends.

Regarding reunions, I was kind of an asshole in high school. And didn’t hang out with people there much. Oddly, I never received invites for the 10 year or the 20 year.

Re-org number eleventy-eight in progress - to be completed mid December.

We still have jobs - we’re just not sure who, exactly, we’ll be working for or what, exactly, we’ll be working on…

Tony, do you do contract work?
Have a couple of friends that do contract work at Tinker. Same company for a couple of years and then the contract changes hands. They keep their jobs, but the name on the paycheck changes…as can the amount.

Sorry to hear of the added stress. Hope they communicate as proactively as possible…

No worries. We do a re-org every 6 months to a year. We do slough off employees of companies we’ve acquired but our group, being IT and understaffed, remains untouched for the most part. It’s an ever-changing parade of middle-middle-middle management that occurs. I’ve experienced about 12-15 of these in my 10 year sojourn at this company.

Wow some great lifting and philosophizing going on here.
Nice work on both.
Sorry to hear about the J.O.B. woes.

Id Like to say Hel doesnt surprise me, but he still seems too.

I like how scientific you are- in finding what works.
and enjoy that you share your discoveries.
like allot.

I am already BOOOOOORED with 531 and am going to drop bench
for a while and replace with some conditioning work.

I just did the 20th and will admit it was fun as hell,
I went to a neighborhood small school with pretty nice kids
and had fun.

Some of the nerdier women- treated this as their personal comming out party.

I had know Idea that I actually liked some/most of the kids I went to school with.

Notes:
Feeling good. Had to dig in for the 440 since I missed the first one. Went light on the curlies.

Your Zercher ability leaves me dumbfounded. My best Zercher is about 50lbs. shy of my best backsquat. I think my lower back and core is my weak link, and the Zercher exposes it.

Judges finally finished the meet from the 15th. Results should be out tomorrow or Wednesday.

Do 'em from a half squat height and really pile on the weight - that’ll fix it. Squats feel easy after that.

Incredible zerchers! That’s an ass-load of weight. GMs look really strong as well. Great work!

Damn… that makes so much sense… I’m always seeing the forest for the trees…

The Pale One is King of the Zercher!!!

Um…I think that would be you, actually.

Thanks guys - hopefully it’ll translate into a better squat and DL. I want my pull to be over 500 as a regular thing and I still haven’t broken a 400 squat.

Deadlift meet coming up in Feb and I want a 525 at least.

That’s over 2.5 x bw. Good goal. Be a great pull.

I need to be rockin’ the front squats, hack squats and leg press to get some speed off the floor so I can make it past my knees. I also need to bring my upper volume down a bit so I can put more energy into lower body training. That or isometrics at the knees pulled from the floor.

edit:

I got to thinking about it, and the limiting factor is my back. It has no stamina to get through a heavy full lift. Think I’m going to do light-ish deadlifts to the knees for reps and hold the last one for time along with iso pulls to the knee on another day.

Criminy! It’s taking me the better part of the day to get to and through everybody’s threads. I sure wish there was a way to get paid for doing this because I surely prefer it to my job.

Don’t get me wrong: I have a good job - I just enjoy this weight lifting crap more.

That’s some bad-ass zerchers, Tony!

How about deficit deads as well to help with the speed off the floor?

I like the “light-ish deadlifts to the knees for reps” idea…

Tony, that zercher was tremendous…405 crippled me.

Im shooting for 500, but I need to do some low back work first.
