Putting the damn weights down when doing any overhead lifting and not being able to drop the weights causes me a lot more soreness than the lifting does. Usually hits me in the traps. Gotta remember to kiss the biceps, though. Just read back through your thread. First time I ever heard of a virtual meet. Sounds fun, but at least in throwing, I can’t come anywhere near in practice what I throw in a real meet. Gotta have that atmosphere to get going. Was it hard for you to get “up” for the lifts?

Definitely. I was trying to manage my son as photographer while lifting. He’s a good kid and bless him for wanting to help, but, at 11 yo, he has a bit of a focus problem. The vibe definitely wasn’t there and I didn’t lift as well as I could have. I was 10-30 lbs down on all lifts.

KMC, I read a thread about weight cutting, where you mentioned that you used to cut 10-12 pounds 1 hour before a match (on a sub 145-pound athlete). I’m in a similar situation, but I’ve never cut weight before. I had two unsuccessful attempts at cutting weight, just to see how my body would react, and the results were less than needed.

I pulls mah beach shorts down some a bit at teh same time so’s they can see mah ab veinzzz and some of teh hormone-laden man-fur too. I’m releasing mah pheremones fer teh wimmens.
Per George Soldog’s suggestion, I’m taking tomorrow off from lifting and hoping I don’t get too cranky…which does happen when I break schedule. 'Side’s which, the “new movement DOMs” has kicked in to the extent that I have to be winched down to the crapper or else paint a target on it.

what are these mythical creatures known as abs. I heard that they only come out in the presence of Hammerzz Strength equipment, full length mirrors or repeat showings of Fight Club.
I once thought I got a glimpse of the allusive ab one morning as i stepped out of the shower and glanced into the mirror. But just as the sasquach appears in front of some tourist and then darts into the underbrush, so did my ab.

No - I haven’t posted them as yet. I was waiting for the judging to finish but it hasn’t started even yet. None of them are PRs and not very interesting as lifts go and I failed in one vid (how embarrassing!).
I’ll upload 'em tonight and let you guys judge how I did.
