Out of curiosity, what would be the difference if you just squatted down until the bar was resting on the pins, paused for a couple of seconds to eliminate the stretch reflex, and then stood up? It would seem that would eliminate the setup difficulties, but otherwise keep the exercise the same.
I was thinking the same thing Mathineer.
Great lifting Skid.
Thanks Eco.
I just prefer to do it from the bottom because I have a tendency to cheat when I try to use pauses. I notice they get shorter and shorter them more reps I try to do…
Power Clean: Getting the jump now after the second pull. Even figuring out how to DO a second pull. Bar was popping above shoulder height when legs were straight.
BTNPP: Harder than standard push press. Hits the weak spot in between and above my shoulder blades. Keep at these and I think the poundage will go up quickly. Have to be careful not to bend the knees and turn them into a jerk from the neck.
Zercher: Thought I was going to have trouble, but 420 wasn’t all that hard.

Pullups: just had an itch to do them.
Good session and a nice day to be 47 years old.
indeed a nice session!
Are birthday well wishes in order?
Should any wish to proffer them, they would be accepted…as this is indeed the day of my birth.
Tried out my Rolling Thunder yesterday - I could only pick up 125 pounds with it; my hands are so freaking small. 185 is supposed to be the start of strong on that lift, so I’ve quite a ways to go…
In celebration of my getting older I allowed myself a senior moment. When I was unloading the bar after the zerchers I didn’t pay attention to what I was doing and only unloaded the plates FROM ONE SIDE.
As the last plate on that side came off I relearned that gravity still worked and had a practicum on levers and torque. Damn near put the bar through the garage window.
Happy belated birthday. Hope you enjoyed the cake. Your zerchers are really getting to the point of amazing. Rolling Thunder? I assume your not talking about the bombing campaign?

Thanks Hel.
Ironmind sells a lifting handle called Rolling Thunder. It’s basically a rotating tube a little bigger than 2" (almost 2-1/2" think) in diameter to which you can attach a loading pin and do grip work with.
I’ve been up all night configuring servers and questioning whether I really need a job that requires this and has the added benefit of effectively allowing no raises, promotions or bonuses…
Training to day may be completely out the window as there’s another hair-on-fire build that needs to happen this weekend starting today so I may not sleep until after work.
But hey - I learned some new stuff, so it’s still good.
