5/3/1 Deload Every 4th Week or 7th Week

In the 5/3/1 second edition ebook, it says to deload after a 3 week training cycle…but in the newest ebook “Beyond 5/3/1” it says to deload after a 6 week training cycle…is one necessarily recommended over the other or is it just personal preference?

Do as preferred.

experiment with it. Just don’t push through 6 weeks without deload just because you might think it’s more productive.

Read the foreword of Beyond 5/3/1 and evaluate.
Do you consider yourself a beginner/intermediate or intermediate/advanced?.

Beyond applies to advanced lifters which have the experience to make choices for them selves.
Only you can be honest enough to make the sound choice which path to choose.

Either one is fine - I explain why we went to 6 week cycles in the Beyond book. But the principles are the same so it doesn’t matter. Eat a ton, drink some milk, take some test and get strong.
