Thanks surappak. I ended up hitting 345 easy on my opener, then I went to 370 and hitched it half way up. I stalled and then pressed it back towards my head. I locked it out, but the bar dipped in the middle of the lift, and got 3 red lights.
I decided to take 370 again on my final lift and locked it pretty well, although a little uneven. I got 3 whites and a 5lb PR. I’m happy with the meet PR, but also would have liked to get 370 on my 2nd so I could try for 375 on my third attempt.

I wish. I haven’t been able to do military or incline (BB or DB) for years due to shoulder problems. It’s only been the last couple of years that I’ve even been able to do heavy benching regularly again, and even so I have to be careful.
Luckily my shoulders are still strong from dominating my bench form for so long. I’m getting them healthier day by day, so I’m hoping to get a nice bench boost whenever I finally can start lifting overhead again.

man you should hit that shit soon, where you at right now?
If your talking to me Im at like 370-375 right now maybe more but I’m somewhere around there Im guessing ??? Just based on what Im lifting right now. I dont max often because I think its a waste of a training day.
I only do it if a coach asks me to do so on a certain date then I change my training to progress to do my best for a 1 rep max. Same thing applies if they ask me to do a 40 yd dash or 225 bench rep max etc.
I would like to get in on this. I’ve done 415 touch n go in the gym, but I want to get it as a pause then press.
In addition, I would like to say congrats to Modi on the comp and showing the video; very inspirational. Still don’t see how that first squat attempt got 3 reds, but hey I’m not a professional judge.
When I attempt it in a few weeks, pending my bicep pain, I’ll record it.
nice man…i hope more people will post vids up here it’ll be more insprirational for everyone.
I’m thinkin of hittin my 405 in about 8 weeks or so, if everythin goes smooth sailing I don’t see how I will not hit it. Very exciting time for me, and of course for you as well!
awesome man! yeah if you can post some vids!
I’m gonna post a vid of me real soon benching…or maybe I should just wait it out and post the 405. We will have to see!!!
Im into a lot of db benching, once I can hit the 150’s for a solid ten, Im going to start bar benching again, I think after a few weeks Ill get 405 raw.

Would you normally only be able to hit 95 x9 on the dumbbells or is that because of all the work that’s gone on before it?
Is that unusual? My best bench is 357.5 and my best set with dumbells is a pair of 100s for 11 and I know fewer guys doing 100s for 8-12 than who can do 350.
I’m looking for a place to get dumbells over 100 pounds. I would use dumbells for benching much more if I had a set running from 90s to 120s (ideally in 5 pound increments or less).

I’m 5-8 202
I can hit the hundreds for 10 but can’t push 300 yet. Not even close.
I’m closing in, as I have hit a gym lift of 390. I have gone through 2 waves of 5/3/1 and am gearing up for my first powerlifting meet on May 2nd. Throwing a good pause in there has definately dropped the weight some but I’m still gunning for 405.
