He’s a teen competitor, and obviously a serious one.

As Gerdy said, he should compete in teens until he’s 20, then take off to build serious mass (at least several years) before competing as an adult…

lookin gr8 dude,nice defenitions,lookin kneat and lean,keep it up.

and i have a couple of questions to the guys,as op started competeing at the age of 15 with all the supplemenets he took won’t that alter, effect or even harm his body chemistry at his young age.
i mean do u guys recommend for a person to start supplementing at this young age.
thanks

what supplements?

I generall do not use any supplimentation. I have gone through several supps. at various points through out the years, all of which were completely natural (No hormones etc.) and not before researching first. Majority of supps I have take consisted of what our body produces naturally anyway, like glutamine, and creatine etc. But other than that I dont really bother since most of them dont work.

I did NOT take any suppliments leading up the win last weekend, and the only one I am on now is “Xtend”, which again is basically just L-glutamine. I am only on it because I recieved some free suppliments along with the win.

OP,

good physique for your age

BUT

Do you think you might be doing yourself a disservice by competing/dieting down so much this early?

it takes a long time to diet down to 4-5% BF

I can’t help but think, you could be much heavier if you just kept to a reasonable level of BF% and stayed there until you were like 20

Taleb, to answere your question, it CAN put some extra stress on one’s body to be dieted down year round as alot of pro’s do, while it is still growing and develoin, but nothing dextramental. Keep in mind, up intil this year I only did one show at a time, with a fairly long bulk inbetween. Plus it only takes me abour 8 weeks (at this point in time) to shred so its not too drastic.

That’s a big sumbich for a 17 year old.

what?

I was 165 lbs at 5’8 around 10% at 18 yrs old, no where near big. In fact, small[/quote]

This is me 4 weeks out from the RI Naturals at 145lbs with a regular shirt on (Not pumped). I carry weight much differently than most people do at 145lbs.

You have some big arms for 5’7" 145. I’m 5’9" at a reasonably lean [me in the av] 175 and mine aren’t much bigger, if at all. Props on the hard work and good luck with the show.

Good point, definitely good arm development. I hope I didn’t come off as raining on your parade, that wasn’t my intentions

I just wrote that as I know someone who just crashed and burned trying to do too much too soon

You have done a great job so far and I wish you the best of luck in future

BTW, what were you initial stats? pre-training or as close to as you can remember

Damn man, if you didn’t tell us your weight I would have had NO idea you were that light. You carry it impressively.

Very impressive. I wish someone pushed me into the weight room when I was 17 -lol.

It doesn’t take a long time for some to diet down to 4-5% I can go from off season to that bf% in 2 weeks max. It’s all genetics and as a teenager I walked around at that bf%

hes a teen competitor you can’t compete as a teen when your 20. he’s doing his thang…I’d be the best ‘teen bodybuilder’ I could be until that day you turn 20…then it’s throw some clothes on for a while and mass up.

I went from winning, placing top 2-3 in teen shows and amongst teens to getting 8th out of 16 in my first open men show. Now I’m 21 and still bulking. Plan on competing next year but I might take even more time off.

good job man and you definitely are lucky in that the way you carry muscle makes you appear larger than you really are. Thats a blessing. In clothes I look small, but in trunks people guess me heavier than I weigh as well

keep up the hard work man this sport is a great one and from what I’ve found so far the journey along the way is the best part

He obviously means that he looks big for a 17 year old when it comes to bodybuilding standards (lean mass and body fat percentage).

There can be 17 year olds who are 180lbs at his height and look like shit…this kid looks solid even though the scale weight isn’t “impressive”.

Yes you do need to take time off to get big. Its hard to bulk cause you like you said carry weight differntly then others. You are one of those people with vasculerity which makes you look bigger and better. In a bulk you lose that and look smaller but once you cut you get bigger.

You have some massive arms though. I can not stress to you how big they are compared to your other body parts. Good work. Keep it up.

It’s all good man, I appreiciate the looking out. My initial stats were REDICULOUS. mid/end of freshmen year, at 14, nearing 15 years old:

Heigt: 5’2"
Weight: 104lbs (end of day!)
Arms: 11.5"
Legs: 19"
Forearms: 9"

Lol here’s a picture…

Exactly. Bodybuilding is about the perception of looking big, and this dude has done that…even though the scale might say differently.

its not bad man, youre short and you were 14. you were just entering puberty at least you werent like me and looked that way til you were 18/19 with disportionatley large hands and feet. its one thing to be skinny, and another thing to be skinny and look like you have acromegaly

i wish i started lifting when i was 14. The amount of tail i would have gotten in Sophmore through Senior year would have been ASTOUNDING

Looking great… Your arms deff look larger than 16". What are your lifts? Squat, bench, dead?
