I agree with Bondslave in that you have a God given talent!
I seriously wasn’t expecting that lift to be real! When I saw the loaded bar and then saw you’ and considering your age’ I thought ‘this ain’t real’ then bam’ you owned it! With an overhand grip to boot! I am blown away. Major props hulk, well done!
You are now the unofficial US deadlift record holder in the subjunior 198s.
Amazing dude.
this makes me uneasy… have we been duped?[/quote]
Don’t be uneasy, it’s not a record, but unofficially would appear to top that top ten list. A kid I knew, Ed Wendel age 18, pulled 639# at 198# in the year 2000 at the USAPL junior nationals in Fort Hood, TX. So these youths pulling like this is definitely not magic but still amazing.
Good job on the deadlift Hulk, now get 700 before you go to college and are forced to follow some dumb s&c program that won’t work for you!!

I didn’t mean for my post to imply that the lift was fake. In fact it was just to illustrate that this kid is obviously special and definitely has huge potential.
If this lift is real, it’s both inspiring and depressing at the same time. I never understood some of these lifting videos on the internet. I convince myself they could very well be legit because it’s such a larger population sample than i’m used to seeing in real life, but that being said, I’ve never seen someone built like this pull even remotely close to that much. Especially at that age. Absolutely out of the ordinary if true. I must ask, Hulk, what did you start at and how fast was your progression to this poundage? What about your BW, how did that change along the way?
To think if you do pull 700 you’ll be very close to another great deadlifter who was lighter than you, Franco Columbu.

And I always wonder where all these child prodigies go…

my first time deadlifting was when I was 13 I think and did 300lbs. I have been working out since third grade, back then all I did was decline situps 10 sets of 50 a day, lol, I did my first 405 Beginning of freshman year, then 500 at the end of freshman year (weighing 240ish).
Then did 600 but bad form (horrible hitch etc…) then a year ago from now I was 285 lbs, I bulked up to get stronger, and no one was telling me I was getting fat, lol. Then I started losing weight during basketball season over the winter and I am still trying to lose fat, and get down to sub 10% bodyfat for basketball and to get a 36" vert. I almost there. btw here is my 275 axle bar clean and press from today: 275 axle C&P - YouTube
lol I can still get more muscle and weigh the same since my bodyfat is atleast 15-23%
